You asked for a SCRAPBOOKING class - I have one for you ! I was originally going to hold this class after the holidays but then thought that these projects might make a really nice Christmas gift for someone! And with so much left over from the kit after making these 6 pages, you'll have plenty of Holiday Card options in time for Christmas!

When: Saturday October 27, 2007 (930am - 1130am)

Where: my craft room (details/directions to be provided upon RSVP). Class size will be limited to 8 guests.

Cost: $40 which includes the entire Winter Bright SS kit plus all the supplies to make 6 full scrapbook pages - you take all of it home! The kit itself, after shipping & taxes is $35.04 so you are paying only $4.96 to attend this class!!!

Pre-payment is preferred as the kits will be ordered prior to the class date - thank you!

What you will get from this class: Using your pre-purchased Winter Bright SS Kit, you will get to make all 6 of these 6x6 winter scrapbook pages (3 coordinating double page layouts) to take home with you. You will also take the remaining supplies from the kit home with you to keep (and there is TONs left over after making these 6 pages)!!! The picture of the kit above is AFTER I finished making my projects - I only used about 10% of the kit to make these 6 pages.

Early Registration SPECIAL - guests who register by Monday October 8th will also have the option to purchase a 6x6 scrapbook at 15% off to put your pages in - making this a PERFECT Christmas gift for a loved one (or yourself)!

Scrapbook Class Results

What a FUN night I had Thursday night! A good friend of mine (Angie) let me know what her sister Maria wanted to host a Stampin' Up! home party that focused on SCRAPBOOKING! Well, I was more than happy to accommodate and spend a few hours talking about one of my most favorite hobbies!

Thank you Maria for opening up your lovely home and inviting your guests to come experience SU! scrapbooking. I had such as great time and was so pleased with the reaction to the projects :o) The group was a lot of fun and did a fantastic job on their pages! Hopefully a few of them will be checking this blog out so that they can see the announcement (if they haven't already heard)....

CONGRATULATIONS to Heather C & Sylvia - who were both winners of an extra scrapbook page layout!!

We worked on the 'Autumn Page' and the 'Snow' page below but I included a few other projects here that I prepared specifically for this class to show the girls the wonder of SCRAPPING!

Blog Tutorial - How To Leave A Comment

Thank you to everyone who has left a post in the past on my Blog - it is great to know that people out there are dialing in regularly and enjoy the content they are seeing! For others, I hear comments all the time (in person) that you love the Blog but you don't know how to leave a comment - this tutorial is for you! I know that Blogging may be new to many of you so hopefully these instructions help:

Step 1: For each post, you'll see a message at the very bottom of the post that looks something like this:

Posted by Lisa Burns at 9:36 PM 1 comments

Step 2: To leave a post, simply click on the '1 comments' link

Step 3: The next screen will show you all the comments for that particular post but will also have a box on the right hand side of the screen where you can leave your own comment. Type whatever you'd like in the comment box

Step 4: The next step asks you to choose an identity and gives you the following options: Your Name (if you are already a blogger and have a blog id); Other and finally, Anonymous. If you have a blogger id, you can choose that option but most of you may prefer to simply select the 'anonymous' option

Step 5: That's it! You can preview your message if you want before clicking on Publish Your Comment.

Important - Some of you may be worried that your name will appear, or worse yet, your email information. It will NOT show! Even if you leave a comment as a blogger, it will show your blogger name. If you leave a comment as anonymous, it will show as anonymous. Some people will sign their comment so that I know who left it. An example would be 'Lisa B'.

Comments may take a few minutes to view on the blog so don't be too worried if you don't see your comment right away!

Thanks for taking the time to review these instructions - I hope it encourages those that haven't tried the comment option - to try it :o) I would love to hear from those that are viewing my blog...feedback, requests, questions, comments on samples is always WELCOMED!!

Hamilton Regionals!

Yesterday marked the day for our annual Stampin' Up! Regionals, which is an annual opportunity for demonstrators to gather together for lots of great business tips, new technique demonstrations and TONs and TONs of samples of creative projects! I took 155 pictures of just project ideas from this one day!!!

We were very fortunate to have a Canadian location this year - Hamilton, Ontario so we left early Saturday morning and enjoyed a fun-filled day of stamping. It is one of the many 'perks' of being part of the Stampin' Up! family, for sure! I will have several posts over the next few days, specifically from these Regionals so that you too can enjoy the fun projects they gave us to make yesterday :o)

These cards were made using the stamp sets 'So Much' and 'True Friend'. The 'thanks' card has a simple flap on the front and some scallop bordering using the corner rounder punch!
The grey card below showcases the new 'Basic Grey' colour cardstock & ink - we often overlook the neutral colours but after using it this weekend, it has become a must-have for my collection!

More Projects From This Week's Classes

I love making Fall Cards! It is especially nice when you find a pattern that you like so much, you just change the colours to create a different feel!
The Mellow Moss card could even pass for a winter-type card (I think :o)
The technique used here creates the same look as Polished Stone - however it is much easier! You won't believe .... so I will post the technique (with the recipe cards) in the next day or so for all to see.
Thanks for stopping by today!

New Page Element!

Hi Again!

I've posted a new page element on the right side of my Blog below Upcoming Classes / Events / FUN. The new element is called 'What's Going On This Month - Games, Incentives, Shares'

The new element will provide an 'at-a-glance' update on some of the incentives I offer ongoing - like Stampers Clubs and Accessory Shares etc. This will be an easy way for me to post how many more spots are open for these types of incentives without a formal 'main' post all of the time!

Check it regularly in case you are looking for something specific to participate in - or to keep up on some of the new incentives coming...

Ribbon Shares are in and sorted!

For those that have signed up for the Ribbon Shares - Grosgrain Narrow (1/4 inch), and Grosgrain Wide (5/8 inch) - they are here and sorted AND they are beautiful!! After spending some time sorting & bundling the ribbon, I tried to find a way to get some pictures to share with all of you so that you could see first hand what you are getting (or could get), by participating in a share.

To begin, Stampin' Up! Ribbon ROCKs! It is of amazing quality and coordinates perfectly with our inks, paper and other embellishments like eyelets, brads etc. so you can't go wrong with having a sampling of each colour we offer. Think of the time savings by having the perfect match to your projects without having to run from craft store to craft store!

Let's start with a picture of all the Ribbon before I dug into it :o) This gives you a pretty good idea of what you get in each of the shares. The narrow grosgrain are centered in the picture with the wide grosgrain holding up each end!

This shot shows you the thin grosgrain cut into 1 yard pieces. If you participate in this share - you would receive 3 1-yard pieces for each of the 16 colors. The one-time cost to participate is $27. You would end up with 48 yards of this awesome ribbon!

Wanted to show the full amount of ribbon you get for 1 spot in the share. What is shown here is the full length (folded in 1/2 to fit the picture), for $27 total per spot.
** I have 4 of the 5 shares spoken for - that leaves 1 left up for grabs. Contact me if you wish to take advantage of it while it is here!

On to the Wide Grosgrain - and I have to say - the NEW 5/8 inch Grosgrain is absolutely GORGEOUS! Before the shares, I had only the Wide Vanilla colour, but after seeing all the colours up close & personal - I've actually taken one of the share spots myself :o) I LOVE THEM ALL!

Last picture of ribbon - I promise! This picture, like the Narrow Grosgrain shot above, gives you an idea of the full length of ribbon you get when you participate in this share. Each piece is cut to 1 yard, and you get 3 1-yard pieces of each of 8 colours for a one-time cost of $22 total!

**I have 2 spots currently open for this share (no waiting) and again will start up another one if there is interest.

So, to sum up for this post (can you tell I'm feeling better, and have my 'wind' back?) - this is a fantastic opportunity to sample each of our best-in-class Grosgrain Ribbon! Because they are cut in 1-yard lengths, they are ideal for splitting or trading with another stamper/scrapbooker!

Want to see more Ribbon, click here:
Have a great long weekend everyone!
