Scrappers Club Feature #3 - Angie!

My dear friend Angie... what a Scrapper you have become! It warms my heart to see how much you enjoy completing your scrapbook layouts!!

Angie has blossomed into this wonderful crafter who I am so privileged to know and to spend time with. You make my craft room a better place Ang - and I love ya! Angie created these 2 fabulous 12x12 layouts above, showcasing her son playing in the wading pool and his trucks! Aren't they awesome!!!

She went on to create the layout below, using a sample page I had made last winter. She kept the same color combination and basic layout but made minor changes by using a different stamp set, added the year (yup - she's got a page ready for winter 2009 already - that is 'SO' Angie) and finally added some silver brads to make the snowflakes sparkle a bit more! I love what you did with this page Angie - well done!

I didn't get a chance to take pictures of Sherri & Christine's wonderful page layouts - hopefully they will bring them along in September so that I can share their talent with you also!!

Scrappers Club Feature #2 - Maria!

Maria finished this page and was almost finished the coordinating page when time ran out for the night so she's promised to bring the matching layout page back next month so that I can take a picture and show off her fantastic creativity!!
Everyone at my Scrappers Night Monday really liked what Maria did with this page for a number of reasons but mostly because she managed to take some pictures with a rather tough color combination (fall colors with her daughters very pretty fuscia hoodie) and made it work!
I think she did an amazing job and produced a striking page to show off her families time at O'Sheas farm! Way to go Maria!

Scrappers Club Feature #1 - Silvia!

We had so much fun last night scrappin' the night away - and the girls did an AMAZING job on with their pages (once again). They were so kind to let me take some photos to share with you!!

If you are interested in my next Scrappers Club, starting up in the Fall/Winter, email me at lisaburns@rogers.com and I can provide all of the details! You will get a gift for joining, valuable scrappin' & social time as well as a Hostess set from the NEW Fall/Winter Idea Book & Catalogue!! The club has been a great way for the girls (and myself) to get caught up a bit - if only for a moment - on scrapbooking our memories!

Let's start with Silvia! Remember, my previous post of the pink girlie layout page I made for her (using the retired Crew Kids Girl SS Kit), because she wasn't able to attend July's scrappin' session?? Well, look what she was able to do with it while here last night - with pictures she just happen to have with her! Amazing!

Silvia decided to make a coordinating page last night and came up with this layout - I LOVE IT!

Here's a closer shot of the details she put on her page

I'll be back tomorrow with more layouts from others in my very talented Scrappers Club! Thanks for stopping by!

September Event Schedule

Hello Crafty Ones!

I've now posted my September class schedule on my Stampin' Up! business website - if you would like to check out some of the events I'm hosting, please jump on over to http://www.lisaburns.stampinup.net/ and check out my calendar! I'm working on completing all of my class projects for the September early enough that I can post some pictures (or at least some teasers) to give you an idea of the value of these classes! Check it out!

So, let's kick start the sharing by taking a look at a few teaser pictures of a few of the Holiday cards you would get to make at my Christmas In September stamp-a-stack. You might be able to talk me into posting the full cards before the class - leave me a blog comment and I'll see what I can do. These are just 2 of the 6 different cards guests will be making in September so I'm sure I'm not completely ruining the surprise if I post the full cards!!!

Scrappers Clubs

Happy Monday Everyone!

Last night, and again tonight I'm hosting my Scrappers Club for the month of August! I really look forward to seeing my club friends each month and watching them create wonderful masterpieces with their precious photos!
I also use their inspiration to try to get some of my own scrappin' done during our time together! Thought I would share a bit of what I created last night...

The first shot is a 6x6 double-page layout of my little-guy Evan watching a lady bug. This is an older photo from April 2006. I took a great idea from my friend Angie (HI ANG!) to start a 6x6 album for Evan of just odds & end pictures that won't make it to my larger 12x12 albums. Some of the pics will be of him just doing everyday kind-of-things and/or isolated photos of him/friends that I can't make into a 12x12 page etc. I think its a great idea and will allow Evan to have an album of his own that he can carry around, show his friends/family etc. I also like how fast the 6x6 pages are - ok - maybe fast isn't the right 'term' for me as it relates to scrapbooking... EASY, less complicated pages would be more appropriate :o)

Here are the pages individually:

The next photo sample is a 12x12 scrapbook page layout I created for Silvia - one of my scrappin' girls that couldn't make it to last month's club night. I made her this girlie page because I knew it would challenge me!! I only have a boy, so I don't get to play with pink all that much. I used the retired Simply Scrappin' Crew Kid Girl kit and the Pretties Kit. I like to leave a bit of room on pages that I'm giving away to allow the girls to add anything else they may wish to add, or to journal. I hope she like it!

New Catalogue SWAP Samples!

Card #1 - By Maureen Koprowski!
Card #2 - By Lisa Depencier!

Good Morning Everyone! As much as it is fun and adventurous to be away from home for a few days/nights, there is just something about returning HOME to ones own bed - that is just so comforting!!

Since I'll be doing laundry most of today, I thought I would share some of the wonderful creations I received in a recent card swap I participated in. You might recall the details of the swap from a previous post ... it was a new catalogue card swap with other demo's in my local group to be exchanged at our last Quarterly Meeting!

Enjoy!

I'm back from Algonquin!! And what a week it was!

Hello My Friends!!

My first post back will be of our trip - since I haven't had time to get fully caught up on my Stampin' Up! stuff just yet (we arrived home about 3 hrs ago :o)

BUT... I had plenty of R&R time, time to reflect, time to plan, no time to create but that's ok... I will hopefully get a chance to do that tonight after everyone goes to bed! Besides, my 'new product' order isn't expected to arrive until early next week so I'm anxiously awaiting Mr. Brown!!

For now, here are some pictures from our trip! We were fortunate enough to bring our 12 yr old nephew Jake with us this week to experience camping at its best - in Algonquin Park! Actually, this was our first trip that far North as well so much of this trip was new for everyone! It was really funny watching Jake's reactions to travelling with a 4 1/2 yr old but most of the time, they were just like brothers, bantering back n' forth! Lots of great memories to cherish from this trip! Here are some shots of the beautiful surroundings up North:

Canoeing from our camp site - Rock Lake:

We were on our way to a Beaver movie (yes, you read that correctly...)! Must husband has a thing for documentaries etc. so when he found out that the park offered various educational events like this - we had to go see one! As much as we all kinda grumbled when he told us of our agenda that night, the story of the Beaver was actually quite interesting!! Evan Jake said "that wasn't that bad"!! On the way to this Beaver movie, we noticed a bunch of cars pulled over on the side of the road along the Hwy 60... even though we are not from the area, we had a sense that this meant something so in true 'tourist' fashion, we pulled over to see what all the fuss was about and sure enough, the crowd was watching something!! A moose sighting!! Not just a moose, but a moose and her baby!! It was awesome!! We were some distance away but my camera on zoom managed to get a some half-decent photos!!

Myself, Jake and Evan at the Beaver movie!

One of the highlights was our hike on 'Lookout Cliff' - we took a few photos at the top of the cliff but this one was the best shot of the view perspective! The boys really liked the hike up with all of the twists & turns, but especially the rocks!

Don't worry Penny...they were safe :o)
Our favorite time to canoe was at dusk... we went out Wed & Thurs night around 7pm ish and returned just before darkness and it was so peaceful on the water! It was also a great time to capture the sunset from the water, overlooking our campsite!
Thanks for sharing some time with me tonight (and my family on our trip) - be back again very soon with my regular Stampin' Up! information!! Lots to share!!

Isn't this just the cutest...

Another demonstrator, the super-talented Martha Inchley made 70 of these for our BIG Quarterly meeting last Monday. She is one patient lady...let me tell ya!! I think 10 w0uld be my max with all of the detail on this project :o)
They would be really cute for a child's birthday party, as favors, or a class treat for back-to-school.

We are off to our last night of T-Ball - lots of excitement for the game, the pizza & treats following the game AND the very special surprise we have planned for the kiddies tonight!! Hopefully I'll get a second to take some pictures - I'm coaching Evan's team so I seem to get so wrapped up in the game & the kids that I forget to snap a few photos!!

Super Huge Surplus Sale - this coming weekend!

Hello Everyone - Happy Wednesday!

It occurred to me today, as I was making some of my last minute preparations for my upcoming Surplus Sale that I may not have posted the details on my Blog!!! If you are on my customer distribution list, you've known about the sale for awhile now but there may be some of you out there that I've met over the years that use only my Blog for updates so I would be remise if I didn't provide some information in the event you're local and would like to attend!

This is also a wonderful opportunity for me to post some long overdue pictures of just some of the items I will have at my sale this weekend! Thank you to those that have been so patient waiting for these shots :o)

I will have about 100 stamp sets available on my Surplus Tables: Approximately 75 gently used and 25 brand new uncut/unmounted stamp sets!

Friday August 15th - is a special 'Club Member / Hostess' appreciation pre-sale. If you've been in any of my clubs over the years, or held a Stampin' Up! home party with me - you are entitled to come over Friday night for the festivities!! If you don't fall into this category, there is still plenty of time to qualify for the pre-sale by contacting me to book your Fall party, or to join my Fall Clubs! Email me at lisaburns@rogers.com for more information, or to sign up!

Saturday August 16th - this sale is open to everyone! The sale will run from 9-11am at my home. RSVP for full details, including directions.

Surplus Tables:
I will have several tables full of retired Stampin' Up! products including stamp sets, both uncut/unmounted & gently used PLUS accessories such as Punches and Simply Scrappin' Kits! If you are a crafter, you won't want to miss out on this sale! How does it work?Surplus Tables:All of my items will have prices on them, regular catalogue prices. You collect what you wish and I will total them up for you - YOU PAY NOTHING FOR THIS STUFF and you take it all home with you that day. I will then hand you a NEW '09 Fall Winter Idea Book & Catalogue and invite you to sit down, relax and go shopping in the new catalogue - using your credit total from the retired pile! So, for example, if you selected 3 stamp sets from the Surplus Pile and the total came to $80...you would pay nothing for the used sets and you would go shopping for at least $80 worth of new stamps & supplies in the Fall Winter Catalogue!! You pay full shipping & taxes on these orders. Getting FREE stamps & accessories has never been easier!

Cash & Carry Tables:
There will be many items available for cash & carry, including SU! and non-SU! products. There will be definitely be some Creative Memories products available for purchase!

Even if you don't create your own projects, you may want to swing by to purchase some extra cards/bags etc. for those special occasions that always seem to creep up on us!

I will also have tons of SU! Inspiration Sheets to give away with purchase, or sell for non-purchases! I believe I have approximately 65 different SU! Inspiration sheet-styles to choose from!! I will also have a variety of past Idea Book & Catalogues, Mini's and technique booklets!

Quarterly Meeting Update

Hi There Friends!!

Last Monday was our BIG Quarterly Meeting hosted by my upline Alicia Ryckman. Not sure exactly how many team members Alicia has on her team now but I'm sure its safe to say its over 100 ladies! 70 of them were at this Quarterly Meeting at Fairmont P.S. on Monday night so it was bustling with excitement to see all of the new Fall-Winter products in action!!

I thought I would start by sharing my card swap, as well as our Make n' Take for the evening. In my next couple of posts, I'll share the card swaps I received back! They were awesome as always!!

This is a shot of what my swap preparations looked like, everything pre-cut and ready to assemble! I kept my swaps very simple this time around mostly because I was so limited with supplies from the new catalogue, but also because the idea is to create samples that are easily duplicated for classes or workshops! I used the new 09 In Colors: Pink Pirouette, Riding Hood Red, and the Bella Rose Designer Paper. The only ink I needed was Chocolate Chip and the accessories I used were: the new Scallop Edge Punch (amazing) and Chocolate Chip Poly Twill (note - the chocolate chip poly twill did not make it back into the F/W IB&C however they have brought back 1/4 inch Chocoate Chip Grosgrain!! Yey!!

The 2nd project shown below was our Make n' Take for the night! I was so excited to make these bags because I've seen them all over the place on blogs etc. but never really tried them myself. I guess I thought they would be hard to make! OMGosh, was I wrong! They are so super easy to make, its rediculous! I've switched up my plan for my club members this month and I'll be making 1 of each of these bags for their orders! I'll also include these bags in an upcoming class - so keep watching!

My Catalogues ARE in the building!

Yes, they made their all-star appearence yesterday after much anticipation and excitement! My online tracking of the catalogues indicated that they would not arrive until tomorrow but low & behold, when we checked our mailbox yesterday - there was the reclusive Canada Post slip I was looking for!!!

I've picked up the catalogues and even got around to taking 1 of my catalogues in for binding & plastic covers yesterday (will be ready this AM for me) so I will have plenty of opportunity today to pour over it, hopefully sitting in the sun and enjoying every ounce of its glory!

All kidding aside - the Fall/Winter Idea Book & Catalogue is AMAZING! I'm so happy about it and I can't wait to recreate some of the beautiful projects within it! Lots of new & exciting stamp sets, the accessories are fantastic and for those of you that scrapbook... OMGosh... the Simply Scrappin' Kits are OUTSTANDING! I hope you can make my upcoming Surplus Sale to check this weekend to check it out and get your own copy.

For those that can't make the Surplus Sale, the Fall-Winter IB&C is now available online, so you can go to http://www.lisaburns.stampinup.net/ to view it! ENJOY! ** UPDATE as of noon - the online catalogue is taking a VERY, VERY long time to download! Apparently there are 1000's of people trying to access it all at once so it bogs it down. Keep trying OR plan to come to my Surplus Sale and get a copy of your very own. Its way better in real life anyway :o) **

I'll be back later today with a post from our BIG Quarterly Demo meeting last night - lots of FUN as always as well as some swap samples I received - all with a focus on New Catalogue products!! Have a wonderful Tuesday morning everyone!

Stampin' Up! Update #4 - Customer Info

Stampin' Up! is excited to launch their new Fall / Winter Catalogue with a bang!! This customer offer is available starting TOMORROW at noon. SU! is offering 15% off selected NEW stamp sets from the F/W IB&C!! Cool eh! There is NO minimum order to qualify and no limit to how many you can order! This offer will run until Sept 30th.

I was hoping to have my pre-order of Fall/Winter IB&C's before tomorrow's launch but unfortunately, the delivery times didn't work in my favor :o( so I, along with most of you will be glued to my computer hoping to catch a glimpse of the online catalogue. As much as I know this ISN'T THE SAME as having the real hard copy... it will have to do!!

My catalogues ARE expected to arrive in time for my Hostess/Club appreciation sale Friday night so we can breath a sigh of relief!

If you'd like to check out the flyer up-close, use this link (http://www.stampinup.com/ca/documents/Never_Before_Seen_CA.pdf), and be sure to let me know if you'd like to order any of these discounted stamp sets to kick start your week!! Email me at lisaburns@rogers.com!!

Christmas In July Stamp-A-Stack Samples! Final Part!

Good Morning Everyone! It has been a very rainy weekend here in SouthWestern Ontario, but I've been ok with that since I have been getting a ton of indoor stuff done early in my vacation!

At the top of my list was house-cleaning (you know...the detailed stuff that doesn't get done from week-to-week *urrgghhh*), finalizing details for my Super Huge Surplus Sale next weekend, finishing my swap card for our BIG SU! Quarterly Meeting on Monday night ...all in addition to spending some quality time with the family! Plan that are, I'm sure, not far off from many of you!!! lol!!
I owe my Blog readers one more post from our Christmas In July Stamp-A-Stack so here are the final 2 cards we worked on at that class! The first card was CASEd directly from our Stampin' Up! Idea Book & Catalogue - I often get asked if I use the catalogues after they retire and my response is always 'heck yes'. I love them for all of their ideas and inspiration! The 2nd card was my own creation ... it doesn't seem to show all the detail in the picture but I'll take the girls' reaction to this one to mean they liked it! I used white cardstock & the tearing/sponging technique to create snow hills. Again, very hard to see but in the background (on the Night Of Navy cardstock), I used Lovely As A Tree to stamp (repetitive stamping) a subtle forest of trees in the snowfall using craft white ink & the Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set.

Finally, I treated the girls to a Christmas Bag each! The bag is done using regular dollar store lunch sacks and covering them with cardstock & layers. I used one of the new HOSTESS stamp sets & the scallop punch to create the center accent! Then I filled the bag with candy! What I really like about this bag is the size of it ... while most craft bags you see are smaller and suitable for candy or chocolate, this one is large enough to hold a silk scarf or some winter gloves, a wallet for a man etc. It would be a nice sized bag to have on hand to pop little housewarming gifts in for Holiday visiting!! We are making these this month for my club night but you could also watch for an upcoming class where making these bags will be included!!

I'm having another Holiday Card class in August - check out some details on the right nav. side of my Blog under 'Upcoming Classes / Events / Fun' or pop on over to my Stampin' Up! business website by clicking going to www.lisaburn.stampinup.net and view my event calendar!
Have a great day - hoping to have yet another post today so we'll chat soon :o) Can you tell I'm on vacation now or what !?!?

Stampin' Up! Update #1 - New Product Info

There have been so many updates over the last couple of weeks, I hardly know where to start but as the saying goes - you must start somewhere... so here it goes! I will try to break the updates up into manageable reads during the week but I'll also throw in some project samples so that you don't get too bored with just words...lol!!

Stampin' Up! just finished their 20th Anniversary Convention celebration - which I unfortunately did not get to attend but I hope one of these coming years, I will be there to take lots of great pics, hear all of the exciting news first hand, meet thousands of demo's from across Canada & the US and of course STAMP LIKE CRAZY. But for now, I would like to thank all of those demo's that took fantastic pictures and shared them on their blogs for us to enjoy! The photo below can be found on Holly's Blog (http://hydehaven.blogspot.com/) and it is a terrific shot of one of the NEW Decor Elements images coming our way very soon!! My little guy is growing up fast now and is into cars/trucks/bugs/sports etc. but I would have LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this for his baby room when he was tinie tiny!! Thanks for sharing the photo Holly!!

Décor Elements - Phase 2!
Most of you have caught a sneak peek of Décor Elements either on websites, blogs or you've been given a mini catalogue. Phase 2 is coming (October timing) and in addition to new images, this 2nd phase also offers new colours! Many of the new images are holiday related, so you'll want to check these out in plenty of time to make all of your festive preparations!

Big Shot Die-Cut Machine!
During convention, it was unveiled that an exciting new addition to Stampin' Up!'s product line-up was coming! The Sizzix Big Shot for Stampin' Up! die-cut machine! Partnering with Sizzix, one of the industry's leading die cut manufacturers, Stampin' Up! is offering this exclusive machine available only through Stampin' Up! demonstrators. In addition to the die-cut machine, Stampin' Up! will offer 29 Sizzix dies and 7 exclusive dies. The exclusive dies are also only available through Stampin' Up!

Be back tomorrow with more great updates and some project samples!! Have a great night!
