Busy, Busy, Busy...

I've been busy creating projects for the PERFECT PARTY event, to be held next Saturday March 7th, in St. Thomas! I'm getting very excited for this event, after all its been months since our last super-huge vendor party in Dorchester, held just before Christmas!

I didn't think I was going to have too much of an opportunity to work on 3D items like boxes, purses etc. before the event, but I got on a roll last evening and went with it! Thought I would share another one of the projects I will have for sale at the event this coming weekend - I'll continue to post more creations as the week goes on. These boxes are sometimes called 'Explosion Boxes' or 'Mystery Boxes' - regardless of what they are called - they are SO MUCH FUN to make!
I wanted to use up some of some my retired Designer Paper for the projects I'm selling at this event so I pulled out my Ginger Blossom DP and some of the retired '08 In Colors (River Rock). I did combine the retired products with new products though, which just speaks volumes about the versality of Stampin' Up!s product line year-over-year! I used the 'Fifth Avenue Floral' and a retired Level 1 Hostess from the Fall/Winter IB&C to stamp the inside of the box. The ribbon is the retired River Rock double-stitch ribbon. For the lid of the box, I used Cameo Coral & retired River Rock textured cardstock, along with my new 'Simple Flower' Embosslits
Die & the Big Shot to create the flowers! OMGosh - I love these little dies! You have got to try them out! Finally, I added some Silver Brads, and used one of my favorite word sets 'Fancy Flexible Phrases' (retired...sorry) to stamp a saying and punched that out using the Word Window punch! I popped just 1 of the flowers up using Stampin' Dimensions to give the lid some height.

Still trying to figure out if I'll fill the boxes with something before putting them up for sale - or just leave them empty so that everyone can open them up & see the inside!! What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by today!

5X5 Journals!

I love these little 5x5 books - available from Stampin' Up! They are made of exceptional quality (compared to some journals I've found on the market) and can be used as a journal, a memory book / album, or given as a gift! The Journals are filled with Very Vanilla cardstock (not just paper), so perfect for stamping, or writing, or decorating inside as you wish!

I wanted to make up a few to sell at the March Perfect Party event, and here's what I've come up with! I will also be offering a 'Journal Class' in the coming months!

Supplies Used Include: 5x5 On Board Journals, SS Kits, Big Shot Dies, HodgePodge Hardware, Jumbo Brads, Rub Ons and Ribbon.

Calling All Scrapbookers...

We just need 2 more club members to fill my next Scrappers Club - interested? Read on...

Ideally, I'd love to fill the last 2 spots with those interested in scrapbooking however in an effort to start the club up this month, and relieve the other 4 club members that have already joined of further anxiety (lol), I can certainly accommodate anyone interested in joining the club for 3D projects! I've adjusted the club details below to reflect this...

Club Details
Each month, there will be a date set aside - just for this group!! The club can only take 6 members total, with the following options:

Scrapbooking or 3D Projects!
If you are a scrapbooker, looking for an opportunity to get pages done each month - this club is for you! I will showcase something new each month, and we will make 2 coordinating scrapbook pages, size of your choice. There will be samples available to copy, or you can create your own masterpiece if you wish! Guests will need to bring a cutter and your own adhesive to each club date. I will have extra adhesive on hand to purchase should you require that! For anyone wishing to join to learn a new 3D project each month - the details outlined here apply to you as well!
Here's how it works:
  • Each club member will need to place a minimum monthly order of $40 (before shipping & taxes) to be placed by the 15th of every month. You can order anything you wish from the current Idea Book & Catalogue, or any active Mini catalogue
  • Club members will also get to take advantage of any & all SU! specials & promotions
  • Club members will get a FREE Spring Summer Idea Book & Catalogue for joining
  • Club members will have access to a FREE club event each month where they will learn a variety of new techniques, see & use new products and enjoy a social day/night of stamping!!
  • Club members will be assigned a month where they will earn at least a Level 1 Hostess + $20 in free merchandise from the current catalogue. If you wish to have an OPTIONAL home party during your club month, we will add your home party sales total to your club total and often double or TRIPLE your Hostess Benefits!!
  • Club committment is just 6 months (trust me...it flies by)!
  • Club member also get added perks, like advance notice of events/classes and added specials exclusively offered by me from time-to-time!
Need to miss a club date from time-to-time? We'll miss you, but that's totally understandable! It's actually really tough to find a date/time that works for all 6 members but fear not - if you have to miss a club event - I will send some project materials home to you by way of your monthly order bag so that you can complete a project of your choice! Please note - although a club event can be missed, a club order must be placed each month to ensure all club members receive their Hostess Benefits earned! Thanks in advance for this understanding!
Email me at lisaburns@rogers.com to join the FUN!!

THANK YOU Rose-Marie & Guests!!

Just before leaving for our Vegas trip, I had the pleasure of spending some stamping time with Rose-Marie and guests in Southwold, Ontario!! It was a sunny (and warmer), day in Southwestern Ontario so I was especially thankful that all of Rose-Marie's guests we able to make it for some cardmaking FUN!

I demonstrated the fabulous Simply Sent card kits, as well as 2 additional techniques (Poppin' Pastels & the use of Blender Pens.

Above is the Make n' Take project that the party guests got to make at the end of the demonstration!

February & March are amazing months to host your very own home party! Why? Because it's Sale-A-Bration, that's why!! Here are 10 reasons why I think you should book your Stampin' Up! home party:

1) They are FUN (not work as the name workshop would imply :o)

2) They are easy to plan - ask me how!

3) You don't need a room full of guests, 4-8 guests would work nicely during SAB! Of course, the more the merrier but it shouldn't be a stress point to planning your party!

4) You'll earn FREE products & gifts, when your party hits the minimum qualifying amount. Did you know that this minimum amount is just $200!!! So, if you had 3 guests, plus yourself all ordering for Sale-A-Bration, you would already be at the minimum to collect Hostess Benefits! And it only goes UP from there!

5) You'll learn something new - I promise!

6) You can customize your home party / demonstration. I can accommodate a themed party, or a demonstration that includes techinques, stamp sets or accessories of your choice

7) It's FREE for both yourself and your guests. I absorb all costs associated with a starter home party (Starter Party = the majority of guests have not attended a Stampin' Up! demonstration before).

8) Have a number of friends that HAVE attended a Stampin' Up! home party before? I have options for you - contact me for details!

9) Everyone will get to make a project! Make n' Takes are included in all of my home parties - and all guests get to make them regardless of whether they decide to order anything!

10) Finally, ALL of my home parties are run with a no-obligation, no guilt-feeling to purchase! I feel this is very, VERY important in any economy - but especially our current one! I want your guests (and you) to come out to try something new, meet some new people, see what Stampin' Up! has to offer and if after all of that, they decide to order something, start a new hobby, book their own home party or maybe even start their own home business opportunity - I'll be there to help answer questions and provide guidence!

Now really... what's holding you back from booking your Stampin' Up! party?

Back From Vegas...

and ready to get back to the 'normal' life!

We had a great trip this week and were very, very happy to return home yesterday AM! We made such great time travelling home that we actually made it to Evan's hockey at 9am Saturday - yey! He was surprised to see us and has been handing out lots of snuggles over the weekend. He won't admit it (can you believe that at 5 yrs old)!! but I think he missed us as much as we missed him! We have lots of people to THANK for taking such good care of Evan, allowing DH and I to take a long-awaited kidless trip!!

Ok, onto Stampin' Up! stuff - the reason you stop by... This would be a great time to apologize for not being able to post regularly this month! With Sale-A-Bration and our Vegas trip, I haven't had as much available time as I would have liked to keep up with blogging. Hopefully, with the trip now behind us, I will improve!!

I've received a few emails over the week regarding my February/March classes so I here's an update! I have a few more February Classes taking place - with some spots available...

Tuesday Feb. 17th (tomorrow) - Scrapbooking Class. This will be an informal opportunity (no demonstration unless you need it), to come out and make a few 12x12 or 6x6 spring scrapbook pages. I will have some page samples available for copy OR you can branch out on your own and customize your very own masterpiece! We'll be playing with Simply Scrappin' Kits, some new stamp sets, chipboard, rhinestone brads...lots of great products!
This class is just $5 !!

I'll post the remainder of my February Class schedule tomorrow as well as some advance notice of my March classes!! Maybe I'll post some Vegas pics too :o)
Thanks for stopping by today!
