Playing With Punches!

Hello Everyone!!

My project samples today are cards designed for my 'Wellness' Cardmaking luncheon at work! The girls worked with oval punches & vellum cardstock to create these wonderful flower accents for their cards! I created the cards in a variety of 2010 In Colors! I'm finding these colors so easy & much fun to work with!

Here's a shot of each of the different color cards we made. I brought an assortment of embellishments with me today including the White Grommets, Jumbo Brads and Designer Brads and finally Corduroy Buttons. It was really fun to watch the girls pick out their own combinations for their cards - making each one look unique!

Happy Twinkle Tuesday Everyone!

Today's festive project is a few years old but the set is actually still available to purchase! Yes, Lovely As A Tree is truly a classic! This card was one of the samples I used at one of my very first Holiday MEGA Events - I know some of you will remember that one :o)
The colors are Night Of Navy and Whisper White with Vellum used as one of the layers! The ink is Craft White.

I also wanted to announce the final Deal of the Week for July! Yes, I know...I said that last week was the final Deal of the Week - not sure why I would ever want to rush through July by thinking the 20th was the final Monday of the month. Too funny!

Heart To Heart

When your heart is full, you often want to show it. Punches are a quick and easy way to add interest, dimension, and color to your cards, tags, and scrapbook pages. You can glue punched shapes directly onto your projects or layer a sheet of card stock that has been punched over a coordinating card stock for a reverse effect. The Full Heart punch is a classic heart shape that coordinates with the Love You Much stamp set.

■ Add interest to scrapbook pages and cards
■ Has an easy-to-use thumb lever

Are you thinking what I'm thinking?

So, this story begins with my Mom and me shopping... It is one of my favorite things to do with my Mom :o) As mentioned in a previous post, I have spent a lot (A LOT) of time cleaning out my Craft Room and re-organizing so that it is more functional for my needs. After accomplishing that daunting task, I knew I could treat myself to some shopping for the room. I made my list, which consisted of:
  • A clock ..yes girls, finally I'm breaking down to get a clock for the room! Apparently time really doesn't stand still while stamping *lol*

  • Some shelving

  • Some form of a display stand (needed to be portable)

  • Some storage systems

I managed to find 2 items from this list while I was out shopping with my Mom last week and thought I would share both over the next couple of days. Today...I'm sharing the item I'm most pleased with! Wait till you see...

Here's the item! ARE YOU THINKING WHAT I WAS THINKING???

If not...well check out this next pic to see what I did with the clock! I'm so excited to have something versatile like this in my room! I will be able to change the colors with the seasons and showcase our amazing line-up of shades in each color family as well as the In Colors!!

In honour of summer (with a hint of sarcasm) I have started the clock with the Bold Brights color family!

Now I just have to decide on where to hang it in my craft room! Hope you have an amazing Wednesday everyone!!

Definitely doesn't feel like July but I'm not complaining at all! I think the weather has been perfect for those of us that don't have a pool *lol*
After spending lots 'o time getting caught up on some of my admin-type stuff for SU! I treated myself to some quality time in my Craft Room! Turns out I'm more productive when I feel like I have time to spare in my room :o)

I am completely ready for my BIG SHOT CLASS on Tuesday, pre-cutting and all! Since I'm ahead of schedule now I thought I would post some pictures of the projects I finally decided on. I'm quite happy with them and can't wait for the girls to see (and make) them!

Fun At Canada's Wonderland!

Yesterday, we took another day trip - this time to Canada's Wonderland with our friends Mary, Spencer, Nicholas and Jackson. We had a fabulous time being 'kids' for the day!

This trip was a first for Evan and myself (yes, sad as it is, I had never been to this theme park before), but it definitely won't be our last! Today was Toyota Family Day at Wonderland so employee family & friends had the park all to ourselves from 9-10am, before the park opened to the public! It was awesome! I didn't realize just how nice this perk was until later in the afternoon when we waited on average 45mins to get on most rides (yuck)... But aside from that theme park reality, we LOVED the experience!
I don't often post non-stamping pictures on my blog but thought I would share some of the fun we had! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE VACATION TIME!??!!

Twinkle Tuesdays!

It does seem odd to be writing that title while it's sunny & warm outside - but with my 2-weeks of vacation I'm trying hard to think ahead and plan for a busy fall/winter season with Stampin' Up!
Summer is the perfect time to begin thinking about Holiday layouts and colors - BEFORE the hussle and bussle of back-to-school and fall activities begin!

With that in mind, I'm starting up 'Twinkle Tuesdays' on my blog, where you can be sure to find holiday samples every Tuesday for your festive inspiration!!

Here is your holiday sample for the day! Enjoy!

Merry & Bright Card
In the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, you still have time to put together lovely handmade Christmas cards. Really! Our Simply Scrappin' kits make it simple and fun!

Final Call For Week 2 - Deal of the Week!

CURRENT DEAL OF THE WEEK

Big Shot Doctor's Bag
$72.99
+

Lisa's Special Offer (email me directly to find out what it is)!

That's 30% off the regular price!!! But only until tomorrow morning 9am!

Here's the original post with additional details on this amazing storage & travel bag for the Big Shot!

My kind of color combinations...

And I know a number of you that will surely agree :o) There's just something about the warm color combination of yellow, orange and brown! Today, I'm sharing samples created using mostly new 2010 In Colors including my favorites Dusty Durango and Soft Suede. I also used So Saffron and a hint of Crushed Curry! For the images, I used the new stamp set 'Autumn Days' for the larger card, and the 'Little Leaves' sizzlit for the smaller cards. I stamped all cards using a saying from the set 'Thank You Kindly', in the new Soft Suede 2010 In Color. I finished the smaller cards with some Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon.

I FINALLY got a chance to go into my Craft Room last night and do what should be done in it and that is to STAMP! I've spent so much time in my room over this past week but forced myself NOT to be tempted to work on any projects until I was completely done with my purge & reorganizing efforts!

It was really tough...but I did it and I'm so pleased that I kept my focus and got through the not-so-fun part to really enjoy stamping in my (o' so clean) space again!
Here's a picture of the samples individually... Thanks for stopping by today!
Inspiration taken from SCS mum2bowie...
My original creations... Simple but I really like simple!

Open House Orders - Update!

Hi There! I hope you've been able to enjoy some wonderfully sunny weather this week, like we have here in Southwestern Ontario!! What an amazing week to have off as vacation!

Open House Orders - Update
All of the orders from the 'old' catalogue are now in! The last of those orders arrived yesterday so I'll be contacting those impacted with delivery options!

All of the orders placed from the new 2010 IB&C are set to arrive on Monday! Yeah! Again, I'll contact those impacted with delivery options next week!

Where Have I Been?
Apologies for not posting since Monday but I have been enjoying some much needed, and much anticipated TIME OFF from work and I'm thrilled to say that I have soaked in every bit of it this week!

We haven't had a busy vacation agenda (like we usually do) and I'm SOOO glad we made the decision to save a bit of money, stay home and get some things done around the house! It hasn't been all work this week of course - a few fun (short) day trips, having friends over, playing in the backyard and around the community, SLEEPING IN a few mornings!! - but what we have managed to get done around the house has been VERY, VERY theraputic! There's just something about completing projects that you've had on your to-do list for ages!!! lol!

Along those lines - I have put my Craft Room through a complete overhaul! It's taken me most of the week, working early in the morning and late at night to complete the clean up, but I am VERY HAPPY with the outcome! My ultimate goal is to complete all of the work on my room to be able to spend some quality CREATIVE time in my new space before I go back to work!

With all of the purging, I have a lot of new items to add to my Surplus Sale and Cash n' Carry table at my upcoming Open House (Fri Aug 7th)! Watch for more details on that!

For any demo's out there - I have a surplus of business tools that I'm looking to sell off. Email me at lisaburns@rogers.com if you are interested in seeing the list!

Have a great Friday everyone! Hope to be back tomorrow with some samples of recent projects I've completed prior to my Craft Room overhaul :o) !!

2 Great Ways to Join Stampin' Up! and My Team!

Imagine... Having the flexibility to own any of the stamp sets SU! offers!

Imagine... Building your collection of SU! supplies WITHOUT dipping into your savings!

Imagine... Earning as much, or as little extra income as you want by doing something you love!

It is all possible when you consider Stampin' Up! as a home business! The incredible thing with the Stampin' Up! opportunity is that you literally customize the business to your life. You can ramp it up, or slow it down anytime you want to. When I decided to join SU! I had just a couple of intentions: 1) I wanted to earn enough money to pay off the cost of my Starter Kit and 2) I wanted to get my wish list of items at a discounted price!

5 years later, here I am... Working a full time job, maintaining my SU! business on the side, enjoying a wonderful team of 15 other SU! finatics, and loving the fact that I get to experience all that Stampin' Up! has to offer!

With the launch of the NEW 2010 IDEA BOOK & CATALOGUE, Stampin' Up! also announced 2 great ways to join the Stampin' Up! (and my) family of crafters!

1) An all new MINI Starter Kit! This Starter Kit is priced affordably at just $105 - yet you get all the same benefits as a demonstrator would get by purchasing the regular kit in terms of the discount, the commissions, the incentives, the complimentary catalogues, ability to earn free product, access to exclusive demo resources etc etc.

The kit is ideal for someone who's been using Stampin' Up! products for some time now and has a lot of supplies already! The mini kit allows them to take that step of joining the family without having to spend more on product to do so. The Mini Kit comes will all of the same Business Supplies as the regular kit so you can get started with your business from Day 1!

2) The Regular Kit is still available at $269 and is an amazing value at approximately 40% off the cost to order the product within the kit at regular price! This kit is ideal for the beginning stamper who may not have built up their inventory of SU! products needed to hold demonstrations etc. There is a fabulous promotion right now for anyone wanting to join the SU! (and my) family of demonstrators...

Each new demonstrator that purchases the Regular Starter Kit between July 1st and August 31st will receive
  • All six of the new In Color Classic Stampin' Pads
  • One pack of In Color assorted card stock (8-1/2" x 11")

That's a $58.20 value for FREE when you join my SU! team!!
