Disaster Relief For The People of Haiti!

In the past, when terrorists attacked the Twin Towers, when a tsunami struck Indonesia, when a hurricane destroyed New Orleans, and when wildfires ravaged Australia, Stampin' Up! demonstrators, and customers stepped forward to show their commitment to making a difference in the lives of others --especially when disaster strikes and the need is greatest. So it was not surprising that so many demonstrators have contacted the home office in the past week asking what the plan is to help the people of Haiti!

On January 12, 2010 a magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck Haiti, leaving in its wake devastation so overwhelming that the Haitian people and their leaders can only look for help from the outside to cope. As a Stampin' Up! customer, you can help make a difference in the lives of those who continue to suffer from the effects of this earthquake by purchasing the I {Heart} Hearts stamp set.

From now until February 28, 2010, $2 from every I {Heart} Hearts stamp set purchased will be donated to the American Red Cross' Haiti Relif and Development Fund. The Red Cross is already well-established in Haiti, and this money will be used to provide immediate relief and long-term support through supplies, technical assistance and other support to help those in need.

I {Heart} Hearts – clear-mount (block D recommended) $24.95
I {Heart} Hearts – wood-mount $35.95

Stampin' Up! will share donation results periodically from now until the end of February, so in turn, I will share with all of you by way of this blog. You can order this set on my Business Website or email me directly at lisaburns@rogers.com and I would be happy to help you.

So many of you are contributing in so many different ways! Thank You!

Quarterly Meetings - I can't miss them!

My friends & 2 of my team members - Rebecca & Julia!!

There are so many reasons why I make sure to attend my upline's Quarterly Stampin' Up! Meetings... seeing my SU! demo friends, meeting new SU! friends, the projects, the ideas, the prizes - just to name a few :o)

Every 3 months, my upline Alicia Ryckman and her team of amazing helpers put on a fabulous meeting that focuses on sharing creative ideas, business tips, awards & recognition and much, much more! I love these meetings because I know that I will surely see some of my downline here and after 5 years in this business I STILL leave each meeting having learned something new or been inspired by someone (or both)!

Today, I'm sharing a few of the pictures I took of friends & projects on Monday night!

Wanna Join My Marker Club?!

Would you like these? Who wouldn't??

The pictures above show what you end up with if you join my super-fun Marker Club! This club will not only allow you to collect all 48 Markers over a manageable schedule (4 months) but you'll also learn tons of different ways to use them - FREE for members of this club!

Along with the 48 Markers, each member will receive the carrying/storage case as part of their club perks! The storage case is amazing... it will allow you to travel with your Marker collection, but it also acts as a storage container by holding the markers 'horizontal' to keep BOTH ends of the marker full inked up!

Each marker has 2 ends... one end acts as a journal tip and the other end acts as a paint/color tip! Double the fun and double the usage!!

All club members will receive Hostess benefits once during their time in this 4-month club!

Here are some examples of projects from my last Marker Club! Email me anytime to join, but you'll have to be quick...there are just 2 spots left in this club!

More January Club Projects!

On Sunday morning, 6 new club member friends (plus 2 guest friends) joined me for some stamping time as part of our very first club event for my January-June Stampers 6 Club! I spent some time showing these ladies the new 'Occasions Mini' products and we made a couple of fun projects. I demonstrated the 'kissing' technique (fitting for Valentine's Day projects) and we made some Love Notes with a Fancy Favor Bag, plus my version of a tri-fold card/mini album!

You'll remember from my post yesterday that my Saturday club got to play with the color combination of Soft Suede, Bashful Blue and Certainly Celery. My Sunday Club gals worked with In Color combinations!! It was so much fun watching everyone try out the new Acrylic blocks! I think this option is officially a HIT with stampers!!
If you're on my customer distribution list - you'll want to be watching your inbox this week and into the weekend! If you're not on my customer email list and you don't already have a local demonstrator, let me know and I'll make sure you get this special offer I'm preparing to send out in celebration of the Occasions Mini!! You can contact me at lisaburns@rogers.com!

Inside of love notes
Thanks for stopping by today! Watch for a post tomorrow that highlights the *NEW* Heart Treat Cups and coordinating products!! Until then... Happy Stamping!!

MDS Calendar Post (December)

Here's my very last MDS calendar page - for December! I really like this layout, I think because I really like the picture of Evan. This picture was just taken over the winter break when we finally got snow in SouthWestern Ontario - the day after Boxing Day!
MDS has a feature called 'color match' and it allows you to select a color from your photo that you want to use on another part of your page! I used this feature for my snowflakes and I color matched from Evan's coat! I also used some embellishments (Silver Brads) to accent the center of the snowflakes. You can make ANY/ALL images bigger or smaller according to the need for your page layout! Isn't that so awesome!
Hope you had a great weekend everyone! Thanks for stopping by today!

MDS Calendar Post (November)

This is another MDS calendar page that I'll probably add a 'little something' to before printing! SU! offers the initial software (which is actually what I used to create all 12 calendar pages originally), but they also offer add-on options for very reasonable prices to continue to enhance your pages with SU! exclusive images, accessories and embellishments! This is the before picture and I'll share what I do with it after playing around with some add-ons :o)
It's another club morning! I'm very excited to have one of my good friends Tracy and her girlfriends over for their very first club event this morning! If you're considering a club, I still have room in my Marker, Big Shot and All Occasions Clubs. Just shoot me an email or leave a comment anytime!

MDS Calendar Post (October)

This is definitely one of my favorite pages of my 2010 calendar! We took one of Evan and one of his little friends to Appleland in October and had a blast picking out pumpkins & eating apples! It was a really fun afternoon and a beautiful day to spend outside!
It's club morning so I'm off to finish getting ready! I hope they enjoy the projects this month - I'll post them later this weekend! Have a great day everyone!

MDS Calendar Post (September)

This week is almost over!! I'm so glad!

I remember taking these pictures Sept 2008 and thinking "All the best to his teacher this year - lol". His reaction to starting SK was so different than his first day at JK. I'm sure it is for most kids, but to see Evan so relaxed and silly (excited) was nice to see! It's always easier to send them off when they show comfort in the process, eh!

Anyhow, SK proved to be a much (and I mean MUCH) better year all the way around for Evan so these light-hearted poses seem fitting. I wonder what his teacher would say if I asked her to journal Evan's year...lol...humm

Have a wonderful weekend everyone! I'm really looking forward to having 2 of my clubs over for events over the weekend! Looking forward to seeing my club gals again!!

MDS Calendar Post (August)

Another very basic calendar page for August! Remember... I made this calendar in less than 4 hrs so I've kept it very, very basic to start! Sometimes, depending on the picture, I think simple works better anyway :o)
In this picture, Evan enjoyed cooling off at our local splash pad on one of our warmest days last summer (and if you recall - we didn't have many of those)!
Have a super Thurday everyone!!

MDS Calendar Post (July)

The Canada Day celebrations in our small community are amazing! We look forward to it every year and 2009 was no exception! This year, I treated Evan to a small bag filled with red & white goodies for him to use during the day-long festivities - he loved it!

I need to add to this page a little bit but thought I would share the starting point - I'll share the finished page in another couple of posts!
Have a great day everyone! Be sure to stop by later tonight when I'll post a fun NEW opportunity for you!

A Break From MDS Samples - Holiday Brag Book Samples!

Thanks for your comments & emails about my MDS pages ladies! I'm still learning the program and have actually just recently purchased a few more add ons to help me continue to enhance my pages in unique ways so you'll see plenty more MDS samples coming your way! I'll share my July thru to December pages starting tomorrow...

For now, here are the samples from my Holiday Brag Book Class, held before Christmas. I love these mini-scrapbook albums because they are super easy to make and very, very affordable to mass produce for everyone around you if you wanted to!

I fill them with the clear envelopes, which double as page protectors for your photos! The picture below shows you a peak at the inside of the Brag Book.

Hope you have a great day everyone!

MDS Calendar Post (June)

I couldn't do a Mother's Day page in May without doing a Father's Day page for June...so here it is! A bit more of a 'busy' layout but I'm pretty happy with the result. On this page, I tried one of the prearranged calendar page layouts that are available in the MDS program! They are awesome to get you started, or speed up your page creations if you're trying to do a project under tight timelines!! I added some stamping to this page and played around with different shapes & sizes.

What a fun morning this was... between Evan cooking Rod's breakfast and then watching Rod having to eat (it all) - it was priceless!

I'm so excited to have today off! Rod is back to work and Evan is back in school and I have the whole day to myself! What could be better!! Thanks for stopping in today!!

MDS Calendar Post (May)

Here's a really simple calendar page for May. In honor of Mother's Day, I opted to include a picture of myself with Evan. I must admit, I do have trouble including myself in my scrapbook pages. I guess I just find it way more fun to scrap everyone else *lol*

My Digital Studio allows you to change your photo finishes!! Isn't that awesome! I choose to change the photo to a Sepia finish to keep the soft brown tones throughout the layout. I also don't get to use 'flowers' all that often in my scrapbooking so this calendar page gave me the opportunity to play with some different Designer Series paper options!!

We're off to a hockey tournament today - Evan is very excited! Go Dorchester Go!!

Have a great day everyone - I'm sure it is the final day off for most people out there...so enjoy!!

MDS Calendar Post (April)

Can you tell I'm starting to learn more features within the MDS program? For this page, I've figured out how to tilt text and how to push images behind others on my layout page! Fun stuff! I have left the oval image blank on purpose as I can't decide on what to put there yet.

Just a reminder that there are just 2 more days to order from the current Holiday Mini! I will be placing one final order for anyone that wants to ensure they get something before the Holiday Mini expires on January 4th!

The NEW Occasions Mini will launch on January 5th, as will Sale-A-Bration and a brand new insert for the Definitely Decorative catalogue! So many exciting new products coming your way! Have a great day and I'll be back tomorrow with another MDS sample to show you! Can you guess what :o)

MDS Calendar Post (March)

First off... HAPPY 2010! I hope you had a wonderful New Year's celebration and that this AM isn't too painful for you!!

Thought I would share my 'March' MDS calendar page layout this morning. This is one of the pages I might end up editing before printing the calendar... My husband isn't sure I should print pictures of Evan picking up dog poop, yet everyone that has a dog knows, that this task is sort of...well a right of passage into Spring! Am I right, or am I right?? I love the first picture (top left) where Evan is scratching his head and wondering where the heck to start the process. Cracks me up everytime I see that one *lol*

Anyhow, if I change the pictures, I will likely end up keeping the colors & the layout. I was really happy with the finished look of this page - simple & clean (pardon the pun) *lol*
