Scentsational!

One of my favorite cards of the season (so far)!  This Holiday Bundle is Scentsational and a must have for anyone looking to invest in some fresh new supplies for the upcoming season.  The bundle includes a stamp set (clear or wooden blocks) and the new AMAZING framelits!  Framelits are literally frames that allow you to cut out each image in the stamp set with no scissors, no fuss!  The girls that attended my Holiday Card class last month loved this new Big Shot accessory.  For the card, I used the color combination of Early Espresso / Cherry Cobbler and Very Vanilla.

Simply Snow Swirled

Oh my...it's Thursday already!!  Where has this week gone??  In just a few short days, the kids will be back to school, the days will be getting shorter and the nights cooler... Fall will be here before we know it!  I should be posting some Fall themed cards given that intro but instead I'm sharing two more cards the girls made this month at my Holiday in August class!

The card on the left is super easy and can be duplicated for mass production, in a variety of different color combinations.  The card on the right is another triple layer card.  Both cards were made using the very popular Christmas stamp set Snow Swirled.  I love using this set because it has images & sayings that can be combined to complete any Christmas card - inside & out!

I'm so excited to share that I am planning to have one of these Holiday classes each month from August to December!  Stay tuned for details on how you can participate in a fun incentive program while attending these classes!

Holiday Card Class Sample!

Hello Crafty Friends!

I'm so excited to share one of the card layouts we'll be working on during my upcoming Holiday class this Wednesday August 29th!

There are two sessions offered on Wednesday:
10am - 1130am
7pm - 830pm

Typically I have to cut off registration a few days earlier than the class date in order to allow enough time to cut & prepare card projects while working full time BUT this week I'M ON VACATION!  So I will be able to take a few last minute guests for this class.  If your schedule has opened up and you would like to attend, please email me ASAP.

All card projects are pre-cut for quick assembly by guests.  This particular class won't have a full demonstration...just a few tricks / tips before you enjoy the joy of crafting!  Hope you can join us!

Thinking of Christmas...

It's been a busy week... wrapping up work so that I can take a week off, baseball playoffs, hockey starts and thinking about back to school preparations!  Whew - glad I took next week off!!  I hope you have been squeezing every last bit of fun out of this summer!

With so much other stuff on our minds at this time of year, Christmas likely isn't at the top of your list but if you need a break from the crazy schedule you should consider joining us this coming Wednesday August 29th for some relaxing card making!

It's not very often that I get to offer a daytime class, but guests that register for Wednesday's event have two session times to choose from ... 10-1130am or 7-830pm.  Both sessions will require a minimum of 3 guests in order for the class to continue.  More class samples will be shared soon but you can email me anytime with questions or to sign up!  Have a great day everyone!

The 3D sample shown today will look familiar.  I posted a similar gift box earlier in the month however it had a Fall theme to it.  This is the bonus project the earlybird registrants get to make at Wednesday's class!!  It is made with Rich Razzleberry accents (Ribbon & Cardstock Bow).  I've embellished the bow with the NEW Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons and some white Baker's Twine.  I love, love, love these Kraft Gift Boxes!  A great size for gift giving and very affordable at just $3.50 for a package of 4 boxes!

REGIONALS, REGIONALS, REGIONALS!

What a great day had by all who attended the Fall 2012 Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar in Hamilton Ontario today!!

It was an early start to the day (up at 515am) and on the road by 7am ...but it was soooo worth it to spend the day with great gals, a great company and some fantastic stamping art!  This was my 5th Regional event and I have come away from each one with new inspiration, new friendships and new excitement for my business.  I look forward to spending the next few days/weeks putting my thoughts into upcoming classes / workshops / event ideas and then sharing with all of you!

Thank you to my car mates Rebecca & Lisa - so glad we got to enjoy the day together!!

Being surrounded by so many creative and energetic women today reminded me of why I do what I do... it is all about the relationships we form and finding ways to share what we love (paper crafting) within those relationships.  Regardless of whether our bonds are created by family, work, school, kids, sports or stamping, they help to create & shape who we are!  I personally don't think I could have a side business like this if I considered this opportunity to be 'work'.  For me, it's social and it's fun and it is a fabulous hobby for those looking to tap into their creative side, and yes, there can be financial gains to be had.  I'm so lucky to have found a hobby that I can work hard at to provide opportunities for myself and those that surround me each day.  I sort of feel like I should be sharing that knowledge, the excitement and the opportunity with others - those I have built or are building a relationship with!  There will always be an open invitation to my friends / family / neighbours etc. to share the joy of stamping with me!!

Today I just want you to know that I am proud to be your Stampin' Up! demonstrator!  I know you likely stopped by to see some craft projects so I will share a few of the amazing work I got to see first hand today at Regionals!    Have a fantastic night everyone and as always, I would love to hear from you!  If you leave a comment...I promise I will read and reply to each one!  xo

Triple Layer Stamping Technique!

So excited about tomorrow nights Birthday / In Color / Technique class!  Here is the other card guests will learn about and then make.  The technique is called Triple Layering and it has so many creative possibilities!

This technique will be taught again at an upcoming class as I have a few other Holiday card ideas in mind so if you're missing the class tomorrow night but are interested in trying your hand at this technique, don't worry!  There will be another opportunity to participate!

The card uses the 2011-2013 In Color Wisteria Wonder, which is a lovely shade of purple.  I combined that color with Pink Pirouette and Cherry Cobbler ...but this color combo wasn't my idea originally.  I went to my handy Color Coach for guidance on mixing the In Colors with other In Colors and/or standard colors and I'm really pleased with how these particular shades look together!  The Color Coach is available for all standard Stampin' Up! colors as well as inserts for the In Colors.  You can keep adding or removing colors as you need to over the years.  Contact me with questions or to order yours today!  You can also order online 24 / 7 if you prefer.  Visit my online store for details.

The stamp set used is called Elements of Style - it's not a new one and you'll likely recall other projects made using this amazing set - love it!

Have a great night and thanks for stopping by!

Fall Birthday Gift Box!

This project was so much fun to make!  I love it when things that look challenging actually turn out to be quite simple in reality.  If you were on the fence about joining us for Wednesday's In Color / Birthday / Technique class...maybe this will secure your decision!

I will be showing Wednesday's class guests how to make the (no tying) bow on the top of this project!  Consider it a bonus demonstration for attending!!  So much fun!!!

And if you want to make a boxed project like this ... RSVP for one of the upcoming Holiday Stamp-A-Stacks as it will be a bonus project to make for those that register early! Regular registration will close on Friday August 24th for the Holiday classes being held on Wednesday August 29th but if you contact me by this coming Wednesday (Aug 15th) I will order enough supplies for you to make a Holiday gift box as a bonus project!!

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

But I don't like that saying...

Hello There!

Hope your weekend is off to a great start!  Have you found yourself saying this from time-to-time?  Well, today's card sample may just help you next time that happens!  This is a layout that could be used for multiple card options or occasions!  It may even look familiar to you from the card sample posted this past Monday :o)

The colors used for these samples includes: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.  The white border was made using the Big Shot and the Framed Tulips Impressions Folder.  The main focus of the card (the flower image) is embossed with White Embossing Powder and this makes the image much more vivid.  I finished the card with some coordinating Crumb Cake satin ribbon and on the card on the right, you can see how the saying of any image can be covered up or changed to something else as the need arises.  Just stamp a different saying on a piece of cardstock and use the Word Window punch to cut it out and adhere overtop of the original saying!

Hope you've enjoyed today's card samples.  Be sure to check back again over the weekend for more Stampin' Up! ideas!!
