REGIONALS, REGIONALS, REGIONALS!

What a great day had by all who attended the Fall 2012 Stampin' Up! Regional Seminar in Hamilton Ontario today!!

It was an early start to the day (up at 515am) and on the road by 7am ...but it was soooo worth it to spend the day with great gals, a great company and some fantastic stamping art!  This was my 5th Regional event and I have come away from each one with new inspiration, new friendships and new excitement for my business.  I look forward to spending the next few days/weeks putting my thoughts into upcoming classes / workshops / event ideas and then sharing with all of you!

Thank you to my car mates Rebecca & Lisa - so glad we got to enjoy the day together!!

Being surrounded by so many creative and energetic women today reminded me of why I do what I do... it is all about the relationships we form and finding ways to share what we love (paper crafting) within those relationships.  Regardless of whether our bonds are created by family, work, school, kids, sports or stamping, they help to create & shape who we are!  I personally don't think I could have a side business like this if I considered this opportunity to be 'work'.  For me, it's social and it's fun and it is a fabulous hobby for those looking to tap into their creative side, and yes, there can be financial gains to be had.  I'm so lucky to have found a hobby that I can work hard at to provide opportunities for myself and those that surround me each day.  I sort of feel like I should be sharing that knowledge, the excitement and the opportunity with others - those I have built or are building a relationship with!  There will always be an open invitation to my friends / family / neighbours etc. to share the joy of stamping with me!!

Today I just want you to know that I am proud to be your Stampin' Up! demonstrator!  I know you likely stopped by to see some craft projects so I will share a few of the amazing work I got to see first hand today at Regionals!    Have a fantastic night everyone and as always, I would love to hear from you!  If you leave a comment...I promise I will read and reply to each one!  xo

My Upline's Full Team Meeting!

I hope you're all having a great week so far!

I'm very excited to go to a Stampin' Up! quarterly meeting tonight - they are always full of great information, lots of creativity and fantastic friends! I especially love these meetings because I know a number of my team will be attending and I can't wait to see them and find out how they are doing!

I'm also excited about participating in a 'shoebox swap'! Believe it or not, this is actually my first shoebox swap so I've spent a significant amount of time working through some samples in order to end up with the ideal card for this type of event! My card needed to be something demonstratable (something that can be completed within 10mins or less) and needed to use either Sale-A-Bration or products from the New Occasions Mini!

Here's what I came up with...using inspiration from our demo gallery of projects (Stampin' Connection)! Special credit thanks to Julie Davidson for the inspiration!

I'll be back tomorrow with updates from the meeting! Have a great night everyone!!

Team Burns Meeting

What a fun way to start the new year! Last night, Team Burns met to chat and stamp during my monthly downline meeting! With so many new members joining during that amazing 50% off promotion - we're now a team of 21 so I was excited to offer an opportunity for my team to come over and learn more about what Stampin' Up! can do for them. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit nasty so no everyone was able to make it by but there's always February!

We spent time last night chatting about Valentines Day ideas, classes/clubs and of course SALE-A-BRATION (SAB for short)!

SAB is our biggest promotion of the year and it is expected to be busy, busy, busy with classes, home workshops and events! If you'd like to learn more about my team, or this promotion, please ask!

Here are the projects we made last night as our meeting Make n' Takes! For these projects, we used the following products:

NEW XOXO Stamp Set
Real Red, Pink Pirouette & Shimmery White Cardstock
NEW Love Impressions DSP
NEW Red Glimmer Paper

Basic Grey Classic Ink
Basic Grey Tafetta Ribbon
Lots of Love Letter Press Plate (with Big Shot)
2-1/2 " Circle Punch
Large Heart Punch
Pillow Pouch Die (with Big Shot)

Congratulations & Welcome!

Welcome to the Stampin' Up! family AND to Team Burns to the following lovely ladies...

Julie E
Lisa V
Michelle R

I'm so excited to have each of you as part of this team! Let me know when you get your kits - it will be much like Christmas around your house - lol!!

There's still plenty of time to take advantage of the 50% off Starter Kit and since I know a number of you are considering it as an option for you - here are some common questions I have been getting to help you with your decision making!

Question: Does this mean I'm a demonstrator?
Answer: Essentially it does as the Starter Kit triggers a demonstrator number and this is a good thing! The demo number is going to give you access to the Demo Only Website, an ongoing discount, access to demo only events etc. Having a demo number doesn't mean you have to sell! In fact, a good percentage of my team are hobbyists and enjoy the demo status simply for the personal perks! Whether you want the Starter Kit for personal use or to begin your journey of opportunity as a business, the kit is a SIMPLY AMAZING DEAL !!

Question: If I don't sell, do I need to give the kit back or pay a penalty of some kind?
Answer: Absolultely NOT ! The $107.50 Starter Kit is yours to keep without any obligation to sell the product thereafter, or host parties/workshops or events. You can get the kit and walk away without any committment!

Question: Once I sign up, can I sell the kit to some friends or family?
Answer: Absolutely YES! Once you're signed up, you can offer the kit to anyone you want as long as they are not currently an active demonstrator. I can help you with options around this as the Starter Kit sale is time-sensitive so we'll want to act quickly!

If you have more questions, send them along to me and I will ensure you have answers within 24hrs! Or, another option for local girls, come out to my Kit Craze meeting this coming Saturday November 20th from 6-8pm and get all of your questions addressed!

Have a super night everyone!!

Spring Fling Event Pictures!

Donna & her cake topper project!

Rebecca & her card project!

Today, I enjoyed a full day of stamping and friends with amazing talent! My upline Alicia Ryckman hosted (along with her super-organized team of planners) - yet another fabulous event for local demonstrators, and their guests! I'm so lucky to have access to these events and do everything I can NOT to miss one! I actually don't think I have had to miss one (or Alicia's regular Quarterly meetings ) in at least 3 years!! I LOVE THEM!

The events are open to guests so if you'd ever like to come along with me as my guest - please email me at lisaburns@rogers.com and I will be sure to include you in some information as they are planned!

I will share more pictures and information that I took away from the meeting over the next week or so but today I'd like to post a couple of pictures of 2 of my amazing downline Rebecca & Donna! Both of these ladies (shown above) were members of the planning committee for this event and BOTH did demonstrations for all event attendees!

They did a FABULOUS job today and I'm so proud that they are part of Team Burns!!! Way to go girls!!!

Common Questions About SU! As A Business

Question: Do I have to run an official 'business' if I sign up?

Answer: Yes & No. Yes, you have to sign what's called an Independent Demonstrator Agreement (IDA for short), but that document is really just to ensure you won't be using the SU! name or it's products for purposes outside of company policies. And 'No', in that a large percentage of our demo family would consider themselves 'hobbyists'. I'll define that a bit further in an upcoming post but for now, know that you can join the SU! family / my team simply for the FUN of it! You do not need to hold workshops/classes/clubs or the like in order to take advantage of the Starter Kit value! You can purchase it simply for the deal!!

Question: Do I have to decide if I'm going to be an 'active' demo or a 'hobby' demo when I sign up?

Answer: No. You can certainly change your mind anytime within your active status and go in either the direction of an 'active' or a 'hobby' demo. When you sign up, you don't need to indicate which direction you are leaning.

That said - there are a few advantages to knowing which direction you are planning on taking the opportunity, upon signing up: 1) What you select within your Starter Kit and 2) How quickly you make the choice to join. If you are planning on trying your hand at a business, you might want to stick more closely with the 'suggested' Starter Kit because it has been designed with the 'Active' demo in mind. It will contain coordinating products that enable you to get your kit and start holding classes or workshops within the same week (if you wanted to)!

I would also suggest that if you want to try your hand at the business aspect - that you ACT SOON and contact me to work out the details of joining my team.

The reason why... there is NO BETTER time to join the family than during the famous Sale-A-Bration promotion! Not only do YOU get rewarded for signing up, but the opportunity to book a few starter workshops is really good right now because of the amazing customer benefits SU! is offering! Jan/Feb/Mar are historically months where people enjoy their 'indoor' activities and are more inclined to try something new ...like stamping, or book something fun indoors with their friends/family!

Question: What's in the Starter Kit and what do I get for signing up during Sale-A-Bration?

Answer: A lot! Hopefully you're sitting down for this answer...

Sale-A-Bration Benefits for New Demo's - It's a good one! You'll not only get the Starter Kit for 15% off, but you'll also get to pick ANY stamp set valued up to $63.95 from the current catalogues as a FREE gift for joining!! This is a great time to join my team!!

Standard Starter Kit

Regular Price $269
SAB Sale Price $225 (Kit contents valued at $400 SU! product + Business Supplies)!!

Digital+ Starter Kit

Regular Price $239
SAB Sale Price $199 (Kit contents valued at $385 + Business Supplies)!!

There is NO SHIPPING charge ever for the Starter Kit and there is only 1 tax charged (8% PST) vs 13% when GST is added in. In addition to the amazing selections below, new team members signing up during SAB will also get to select 1 FREE STAMP SET of their choice from any of the current catalogues (valued up to $63.95). This is the first time SU! has combined a kit discount + a free stamp set! Amazing!

Here's a summary of what you'll get in the Standard Starter Kit or click here for more info on the Digital+ Starter Kit!

  • 5 Stamp Sets (option to customize the sets)
  • 5 Classic Ink Pads (option to customize colors)
  • Versamark Ink Pad
  • 3 Pkgs of Cardstock (option to customize colors)
  • Stampin' Scrub Cleaning Pad + Mist

  • Pastels
  • Standard Wheel Handle
  • Standard Ink Cartridge (option to customize color)

In addition to the products in the kit, new team members will receive a compliment of business tools/supplies such as Catalogues, Mini's, Order Forms, Hostess Forms/Envelopes, Party Invitations and Informational DVD's! Everything you need to get your business up & running!

I'll be back again soon with some helpful information on the difference between an 'Active' demo vs a 'Hobby' demo! Hope you enjoyed today's information session!

What Would You Do With Some Extra Cash?

I'm sure your list is as long as mine *lol*

What if I told you that you could earn that extra cash by doing something you love to do anyway?

Might seem to-good-to-be true, but it is something quite attainable. I would consider myself and a number of other Stampin' Up! demonstrators true testiments! Of course, the harder you work at something, the more it rewards you. This is certainly true of Stampin' Up! as a home business!

Over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to focus some different posts on information about Stampin' Up! Information about the many different ways you can customize an opportunity to join SU! while making it work for YOU and your family! I will also spend some time breaking down the benefits of being a part of this amazing family of talented demonstrators and/or my team! I hope you find this information helpful!

If you have any questions from my posts, you can certainly leave a comment on this blog and I can answer publically. If you would rather ask a question privately, feel free to email me anytime at lisaburns@rogers.com

Have a wonderful week everyone!! February is here!!

Quarterly Meetings - I can't miss them!

My friends & 2 of my team members - Rebecca & Julia!!

There are so many reasons why I make sure to attend my upline's Quarterly Stampin' Up! Meetings... seeing my SU! demo friends, meeting new SU! friends, the projects, the ideas, the prizes - just to name a few :o)

Every 3 months, my upline Alicia Ryckman and her team of amazing helpers put on a fabulous meeting that focuses on sharing creative ideas, business tips, awards & recognition and much, much more! I love these meetings because I know that I will surely see some of my downline here and after 5 years in this business I STILL leave each meeting having learned something new or been inspired by someone (or both)!

Today, I'm sharing a few of the pictures I took of friends & projects on Monday night!

Projects by Lisa Bowman & Sue Grant!

New Display Board - Lots Of Work BUT Well Worth It!

So...

I offered to bring a Display Board to our recent Razzle Dazzle Event last weekend - it was the least I could do since I couldn't commit to being a part of the planning committe. I typically change my board Quarterly so that time was quickly approaching anyway but I just didn't quite feel ready for Fall/Winter projects yet...

So, I challenged myself to update the board with late summer, and new 2010 In Color projects instead. Yes - this will mean that I need to update it once again in another month or so, but that's ok - after all, I have ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD TO DO THIS! That's funny eh :o)

If you attend my classes, clubs or events regularly, you'll see this up close & personal on your next visit but if not, I hope the board inspires you to pull out your craft supplies and make a card for someone, or a new scrapbook page! Go ahead and copy - that's what they are there for :o)

Have a great day everyone - as always, thanks for stopping by! Here are the panels shown individually for a closer look.

Stampers Club & Team Burns Projects!

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today I attended a 'Razzle Dazzle Extravaganza' event put on by my upline Alicia and her fabulous team of organizers! I wasn't sure I was going to be able to attend this event due to our vacation plans but I'm so glad I ended up registering as I learned a ton and had a great time with other local demonstrators - including 5 other members of Team Burns!

More to come on this event and the projects we got to make in my upcoming posts!!

Today I wanted to show you what my Stampers 6 & my Team Burns members got to work on this month! You've seen this box in a number of my previous blog postings but as I polled my Club gals & team members, it was clear that there was an interest in walking through the steps on how to make this project - so we did! What a great perk for being part of a club or my team eh *wink* !!! If you wish to learn more about how you can join in the fun - email me at lisaburns@rogers.com!
I found this box template on SCS and began working with the 2010 In Colors to create lots of different options for my guests this month!

The box and the little coordinating note cards were a big hit with the girls!!
Be back tomorrow with some samples from my August Scrappers Club event! Thanks for stopping by today! Hope the sun is shining where ever you are today :o)

2 Great Ways to Join Stampin' Up! and My Team!

Imagine... Having the flexibility to own any of the stamp sets SU! offers!

Imagine... Building your collection of SU! supplies WITHOUT dipping into your savings!

Imagine... Earning as much, or as little extra income as you want by doing something you love!

It is all possible when you consider Stampin' Up! as a home business! The incredible thing with the Stampin' Up! opportunity is that you literally customize the business to your life. You can ramp it up, or slow it down anytime you want to. When I decided to join SU! I had just a couple of intentions: 1) I wanted to earn enough money to pay off the cost of my Starter Kit and 2) I wanted to get my wish list of items at a discounted price!

5 years later, here I am... Working a full time job, maintaining my SU! business on the side, enjoying a wonderful team of 15 other SU! finatics, and loving the fact that I get to experience all that Stampin' Up! has to offer!

With the launch of the NEW 2010 IDEA BOOK & CATALOGUE, Stampin' Up! also announced 2 great ways to join the Stampin' Up! (and my) family of crafters!

1) An all new MINI Starter Kit! This Starter Kit is priced affordably at just $105 - yet you get all the same benefits as a demonstrator would get by purchasing the regular kit in terms of the discount, the commissions, the incentives, the complimentary catalogues, ability to earn free product, access to exclusive demo resources etc etc.

The kit is ideal for someone who's been using Stampin' Up! products for some time now and has a lot of supplies already! The mini kit allows them to take that step of joining the family without having to spend more on product to do so. The Mini Kit comes will all of the same Business Supplies as the regular kit so you can get started with your business from Day 1!

2) The Regular Kit is still available at $269 and is an amazing value at approximately 40% off the cost to order the product within the kit at regular price! This kit is ideal for the beginning stamper who may not have built up their inventory of SU! products needed to hold demonstrations etc. There is a fabulous promotion right now for anyone wanting to join the SU! (and my) family of demonstrators...

Each new demonstrator that purchases the Regular Starter Kit between July 1st and August 31st will receive
  • All six of the new In Color Classic Stampin' Pads
  • One pack of In Color assorted card stock (8-1/2" x 11")

That's a $58.20 value for FREE when you join my SU! team!!

Contact me anytime with your questions! lisaburns@rogers.com!!

SALE-A-BRATION is winding down...

So, I'm thinking I will have a bit more time to share some of the projects I've been working on lately!

Here's a project I demonstrated at both Donna & Tracy's home parties last weekend! This is a super-easy treat bag to make and was one of the projects we got to make at our recent Stampin' Up! Regional event held locally, in London!

I changed the project slightly by stamping a different image on the outter part of the bag (using Fifth Avenue Floral) and instead of using the Big Shot to produce the flower as the bag's focal point - I decided to use the Flower Fusion 2 (felt flowers). The best part of any treat bag is what's inside...CHOCOLATE!

It has been a terrific couple of months in the Stampin' Up! world and I'm very, very excited to welcome 4 new team members to our family of stampers!!

Linda

Tracy

Donna

Leigh Ann

I'm so excited that each of them have made such a wise decision to take advantage of the amazing Starter Kit promotion that SU! has on right now and to position themselves with so much opportunity to learn more about SU!, build up their stampin' supplies and to become part of our family of craftin' friends! Welcome ladies!

SALE-A-BRATION is almost over...but there is still time to sign up with Stampin' Up! before March 31st 2009 and get the fantastic Starter Kit deal all for yourself! The Kit is 15% off its regular price + Stampin' Up! will let YOU pick out an extra stamp set - TOTALLY FREE and TOTALLY YOUR CHOICE valued up to $56.95!

Why not treat yourself to 50% off a ton of SU! products and give yourself an opportunity to earn some extra cash (or more free product for the addicts reading this :o) lol! You can order the Starter Kit by heading on over to my business website and using my password (Lisa Burns) to get this deal before its gone! All SALE-A-BRATION promotions end March 31, 2009!

Be back tomorrow with more samples from recent workshop/classes as well as some for my upcoming April class schedule! Thanks for stopping by today!

THANK YOU Rose-Marie & Guests!!

Just before leaving for our Vegas trip, I had the pleasure of spending some stamping time with Rose-Marie and guests in Southwold, Ontario!! It was a sunny (and warmer), day in Southwestern Ontario so I was especially thankful that all of Rose-Marie's guests we able to make it for some cardmaking FUN!

I demonstrated the fabulous Simply Sent card kits, as well as 2 additional techniques (Poppin' Pastels & the use of Blender Pens.

Above is the Make n' Take project that the party guests got to make at the end of the demonstration!

February & March are amazing months to host your very own home party! Why? Because it's Sale-A-Bration, that's why!! Here are 10 reasons why I think you should book your Stampin' Up! home party:

1) They are FUN (not work as the name workshop would imply :o)

2) They are easy to plan - ask me how!

3) You don't need a room full of guests, 4-8 guests would work nicely during SAB! Of course, the more the merrier but it shouldn't be a stress point to planning your party!

4) You'll earn FREE products & gifts, when your party hits the minimum qualifying amount. Did you know that this minimum amount is just $200!!! So, if you had 3 guests, plus yourself all ordering for Sale-A-Bration, you would already be at the minimum to collect Hostess Benefits! And it only goes UP from there!

5) You'll learn something new - I promise!

6) You can customize your home party / demonstration. I can accommodate a themed party, or a demonstration that includes techinques, stamp sets or accessories of your choice

7) It's FREE for both yourself and your guests. I absorb all costs associated with a starter home party (Starter Party = the majority of guests have not attended a Stampin' Up! demonstration before).

8) Have a number of friends that HAVE attended a Stampin' Up! home party before? I have options for you - contact me for details!

9) Everyone will get to make a project! Make n' Takes are included in all of my home parties - and all guests get to make them regardless of whether they decide to order anything!

10) Finally, ALL of my home parties are run with a no-obligation, no guilt-feeling to purchase! I feel this is very, VERY important in any economy - but especially our current one! I want your guests (and you) to come out to try something new, meet some new people, see what Stampin' Up! has to offer and if after all of that, they decide to order something, start a new hobby, book their own home party or maybe even start their own home business opportunity - I'll be there to help answer questions and provide guidence!

Now really... what's holding you back from booking your Stampin' Up! party?
