Big Shot Butterflies!

I created this 6x6 scrapbook page as part of my HodgePodge 101 class display. I challenged myself to try to use 1 of each piece of the hardware kit on various projects including cards, 3D projects and scrapbook pages! I was really happy with how this page turned out!

I started with Summer Sun cardstock and layered on some 'Good Morning Sunshine' Designer Paper. Then I stamped the butterfly image from the new 'Great Friend' stamp set found in the Occasions Mini! I have no doubt that this stamp set will quickly become a stampin' favorite!!

I layered a bit of Chocolate Chip cardstock down as a matte for a future picture and added my Styled Silver HodgePodge frame with the month of May stamped in Chocolate Chip ink. The May image comes from the stamp set 'Full Calendar'.

Finally, I used my Big Shot 'Beautiful Butterflies Bigz' die, and more Good Morning Sunshine Designer Paper to create some butterflies to layer and complete my page. Before adhesing to my page, I added 2 brads from the Styled Silver HodgePodge kit to hold the 2 butterfly layers together and used Stampin' Dimensionals to pop them up on my page so that I can easily slide my picture beneath them as needed!

Thanks for stopping by today - feel free to leave a comment and let me know what you think of the projects this week!

Explosion Of Butterflies & My Big Shot Club!

As I build my collection of Big Shot Die's... I find myself 'playing' more with different ideas and projects! The possibilities for the Big Shot system are endless! It amazes me how easy the Big Shot makes all of the 3D projects I personally used to shy away from attempting!!
Not any more !!
Maybe the Big Shot has captured your interest? I bet you've seen hundreds (maybe thousands) of projects using the Big Shot splashed all over blogs, craft websites and in magazines!
If you think it's time to try the Big Shot out for yourself - you need to contact me about my next Big Shot Club! The club will focus on Big Shot / 3D projects every month and you'll have access to all of these events for FREE! You'll also end up with your very own Big Shot at the end of the club.
Yup - you heard me right! Email me at lisaburns@rogers.com for full club details!
The project I'm showing today is called an Explosion Box - and it isn't the first time you've seen one of these from me... I do enjoy making them! We made these boxes at our March Club event and I think the girls were surprised with how easy they were to make! For this explosion box, I used the SAB Designer Paper reward (Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper) for the lid and Sahara Sand cardstock for the base of the box. I used the coordinating SAB stamp set 'Polka Dot Punches' and Sahara Sand ink on the inside of the box.
To make the butterflies, I used the 'Beautiful Butterflies Bigz' Die with Bashful Blue cardstock. For the butterfly on the lid of the box, I stamped images using the 'Seeing Spots' stamp set and Bashful Blue ink. I used a piece from the Styled Siver HodgePodge Hardware Kit and added it to the core of the butterfly.
For the butterfly on the inside of the box, I stamped a saying using the 'Congrats' SAB reward set and then popped the image up using some Stampin' Dimensionals!
Come back tomorrow to see my 6x6 Scrapbook Page using the same Big Shot Butterfly Bigz Die!!

CASE'd From The Spring Summer Idea Book & Catalogue!

CASE = Copy And Share Everything!

One of the reasons the Stampin' Up! catalogue is called an 'Idea Book' is because it is packed with wonderful project ideas & inspiration - intended for COPYING! People often ask me where I get my inspiration for my projects and while I have a number of favorite places, the IB&C is at the top of that list!! When I'm running short of time (and/or creativity), I pop open my IB&C and find something I can create (or re-create :o) You can view the Spring/Summer IB&C online by visiting my business website OR you can contact me to get your very own book of inspiration!(lisaburns@rogers.com).

This card uses one of my favorite things lately...TEXTURED CARDSTOCK! If you haven't seen, or tried it yet... you must check it out! Textured cardstock is available in all 48 colors, plus the Neutrals & 'In Color' colors. It really is amazing to work with!

To recreate the card found on Page 98, I started with regular cardstock (Almost Amethyst) and layered on the same color, but textured cardstock and while this picture doesn't allow for the contrast to show - in person - you can see the effect!! I then used my Trio Flower Punch and the textured Almost Amethyst cardstock to add flowers to the card front and added a little dot to each flower using the Uni-Ball Signo Gel pen! The butterflies were made using the 'Flight Of The Butterfly' stamp set and just behind the butterflies is one of the frames from the set 'Frames with a Flourish'. I stamped the saying in White Craft ink but then added some Winter White Embossing Powder to the word to make them more defined on my card.

What project have you CASE'd from the Spring/Summer Idea Book & Catalogue?

Enjoy!

LAST CALL for SALE-A-BRATION Rewards!

Today's the day... SALE-A-BRATION ends today and while I'm sad to see it go again for another year, I'm thrilled that so many of you managed to take advantage of the rewards by ordering, hosting a party, or treating yourself to the Starter Kit (in some cases all three :o) lol!

Please be sure to let me know if you need any assistance with project ideas using your new SAB rewards! I'm here to help and I'll continue to show some additional project ideas for the next month or so to help!
The card project I'm showing today is one that I demo'd with some work-friends last week using the SAB reward Polka Dot Punches, and the coordinating Polka Dot Designer Series Paper! This card also allowed the participants to use a variety of SU! punches including the Eyelet Border Punch, the 1 & 3/4 Circle Punch and the 5-Petal Flower Punch!
What a FUN lunch-hour ladies!!
Here's a guarded piece of info...this card is one of the projects my Stamp-A-Stack guests will make Tuesday night!

Last Call for HodgePodge 101 or SAS Participants!

There's still a small window of opportunity left to get in on this class... I have just 2 spots left for either the HodgePodge portion of the class, or the 5 for $5 stamp-a-stack!

Here are the projects we'll be making as part of the HodgePodge Class! This class is JUST $5! It's a great value for any level of crafter! I will be teaching you how to make both projects, showing you a number of other projects using HodgePodge pieces as well as providing helpful tips on usage of these fun little embellishments! Guests will get to make both projects, which will be pre-cut and waiting for assembly by you! Candy & envelopes also provided!!

Come on out and enjoy some fun stamping time!

Regionally Inspired!

At the London SU! Regionals, a sample was shown using the large flower from the Pretties Kit, some ink and some sponge daubers - I loved the look this created!

While I often use the color Ruby Red, the other 2 colors that compliment this card are not frequent choices of mine... but I was so happy with the outcome of this card that I think I'll need to start using them together more often!

The card base is Ruby Red. The next layer is Barely Banana and the Designer Paper is from the Good Morning Sunshine DSP pack. The large flower comes as part of the Pretties Kit and includes other embellishments that coordinate to make your project perfect - including Clear Rhinestone Brads (also used on this project). Clear Rhinestones Brads are also now sold separately - in their own container of approximately 84!

I've also used a SALE-A-BRATION reward on this card - a stamp set called Congrats! I've really enjoyed this stamp set and have used it on so many projects over the last 2 months! You still have time to get your SAB reward..but hurry...my last SAB order is going in at noon on Tuesday March 31st!

Email me at lisaburns@rogers.com or visit my online store at www.lisaburns.stampinup.net! to shop from the convenience of your own home!!

Take Care!
