Craft Room Renos!

Where have I been?

Well, the answer to that is two-fold...

1) I've enjoyed some vacation time with my family and even though we went away for just 1 of our 2 weeks of holidays, I wanted to take a bit of time away from the computer and focus on outdoor activities (while the weather is still cooperating :o)

and

2) My craft room is undergoing a bit of a face-lift so I haven't been in it as much as usual!!

These picture were taken while Andreas (my friend & the Electrician that helped me) was working on his piece. The countertop has been delivered (not shown yet), and the cabinetry is on its way! Next steps are to have the installer come in for a day to assemble the cabinets; have Andreas come back to finish under-the-cabinet lighting and the wiring for a small T.V and then complete the room with decor & display shelving!!

I am so excited about plans to enhance my Craft Room and thought I would share some information with you. If you are a regular class attendee, or your participate in my monthly club events, you may have noticed some changes occurring in my room!

The wall shown above will soon be filled with more cabinetry as well as some counter top! The objective of this renovation is to clean up the workspace (from a visual perspective) and provide more storage & counter top space for workstations (i.e a Big Shot station; a heat embossing station; a cutting station etc)! I have spent about 4 months planning the reno's and could not have done it without the help of one of my customers (and now friend) Alicia Kostyria! More to come on Alicia in a later post!

I will be sure to share more pictures of the reno's and of course the completed project. I fully plan to start calling my room a CRAFT STUDIO once this is all over! I think the space will truly reflect a comfortable, creative and inspiring environment for my customers and that is exactly what I was going for during this process!

When one ends...another begins!

Sunday night marked the final event for my Spring/Summer Big Shot Club/Class Combo! We had a really nice time over the last 4 months playing with the Big Shot and various Dies and making all sorts of paper crafting projects!

Here are the projects from Sunday night. We focused on a few things during this class, including the use of dies to make other shapes (ie the dress), the use of the new Designer Series Buttons and the Designer Series Paper Stacks!!

While the first Big Shot Club/Class focused entirely on cards/bags/boxes, the Fall/Winter Club will take things a step further and include some crafting with materials like fabric, vinyl, cork & metal materials. This will make a fabulous club/class for those with a little or a lot of crafting experience as everything will be demonstrated & explained during the club events!

August Holiday Club Cards - Post 2!

Happy Tuesday Everyone! I hope you are enjoying this fabulous weather we're having so far this week - we sure are!!

Today, I'm sharing the 2nd card project we worked on during our Holiday Club events this past weekend. Holiday club members got to make 4 cards in total - 2 of this card and 2 of the Holiday Happiness card posted yesterday.

This card uses the classic stamp set 'Lovely As A Tree' as well as one of our single stamps called 'Dasher'! Dasher was very popular last year and it would appear he has not lost any magic over time!!

Although it is very tough to tell by today's photo, this card also allowed the club gals to try their hand at using the new Basic Rhinestone Jewel Accents and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter - always a fun choice for the holidays!!

August Holiday Club Cards - Post 1!

It was busy Stampin' Up! weekend with both Holiday Clubs meeting this past weekend and then our final Big Shot Club event held this past Sunday night... I might need a few days to recover - lol!

I thought I would share the projects we worked on as part of the Holiday Clubs and the Big Shot projects over the course of this week.

Last month, I polled my Holiday Club gals to find out what Christmas stamp set they wanted to see used this month - the winner was Holiday Happiness! What a cute set this is... very whimsical and fun. The girls enjoyed learning a few different ways to use the ornaments and playing with the new Designer Buttons! If you haven't tried these buttons yet, you need to soon!

Both cards used the Jolly Holiday Designer Paper. The Cherry Cobbler card used some Designer Buttons and the new 1/8" Ribbon! I also used the small circle punch from the Punch Pack to make little ball ornaments. The Old Olive card used the coordinating colors Certainly Celery, Cherry Cobbler and some Daffodil Delight - the new yellow core color!!

NEW Designer Series Paper Stack Shares!

I wonder how many of you have noticed the new DSP Paper Stacks in the 2011 Idea Book & Catalogue? They weren't something I noticed the first (and even the second) pass of the catalogue BUT once I noticed them (on Page 175) - I knew it was time for a NEW paper share!

What is a share?

A share is a fun way to sample a product, at a fraction of the cost, without having to invest in the entire stack at full price!

Each share is just $8 and will consist of 6x6 cut Designer Series Paper sheets - 2 of each of 10 different colors within each collection, for a total of 20 sheets! Note - the In Color share has 4 of each of 5 different colors.

Ride On

Here's another congrats card I recently made for a friend at work! I don't have anyone in my family that owns a motorcycle, or that enjoys riding as a hobby, but I could see the value in this single stamp for masculine cards of any kind, so I invested in it!!

It sure came in handy for this card! For this project, I used the following:
