Pick-A-Set Preorder & Swap Workshop

Date: Tuesday August 21, 2007
Start Time: 630pm

Workshop to be held in my craft room. Detailed directions to be provided upon RSVP's.

Class maximum = 8

Pick-A-Set & Swap: By now you've likely looked over the new Fall/Winter Collection catalogue 50 times over and have a growing wish list (I certainly do)! This workshop will allow you to pick ANY set in the new catalogue, or the upcoming Winter Mini catalogue for purchase. The set will arrive in advance of the class and I will cut and make 1 sample card with it in time for the workshop.

When you arrive for the workshop, you will make a set number of cards from the sample I create using the set you purchased. The number of cards will depend on the number of guests. So for example, if there are 8 confirmed guests - you'll make 8 cards from the sample I provide, all pre-cut. If there are only 5 confirmed guests, you'll make 5 etc. etc. At the end of the workshop, you'll keep one sample card for yourself and then exchange (swap) with the other guests so you'll leave with a variety of different card ideas all from different sets plus the set you purchased!!

Workshop Fee: Cost of the chosen set including normal shipping & taxes plus $5. So, if your choice of stamp set totals $20.00, then your class fee would be $25.00.

RSVP: Due to the preparation involved with this class, I'm going to need some lead time to order, assemble and create/pre-cut the projects so I'll need to set this RSVP date earlier than usual but I think this class will fill quickly so be sure to respond as soon as you know you can attend! Please respond no later than Monday August 6, 2007. Be sure to indicate which stamp set you wish to order as part of this class registration. Attached is a link to the upcoming Winter Mini - be sure to check it out as it is a truly amazing mini catalogue this year!

All class participants will receive a ballot for a Quarterly stamp set - to be drawn at the end of September. BRING A FRIEND who is new to Stampin' Up! or new to myself and you will receive a total of 3 ballots for this draw.

Holiday Event Teaser

I'm so mean... lol! I thought I would post a teaser pic of some of the supplies we are using tomorrow night for our Christmas In July workshop. Guests will get to make 15 cards, 5 each of 3 different samples. I'll post the actual cards tomorrow night so as not to ruin the surprise!!

Boy Birthday Card Ideas

Last night I attended our Quarterly Stampin' Up!® meeting where I always take away tons of inspiration and fresh new ideas for projects. Last night's meeting was no exception - watch for some upcoming workshops with some new themes!

As mentioned in a recent post, I also participated in a birthday theme swap so I wanted to share some of the samples with all of you. I wish I could give credit to the appropriate demos for their exceptional work...but there were no names on these cards so my apologies in advance if they happen to be viewing my blog :o(

The first card uses the sporting set "Just Basketball" with Chocolate Chip cardstock and the Creepy Crawly Designer Paper if you can believe it! What a great way to use up some extra Halloween paper!

The second card uses the "Ahoy, Matey" stamp set. Always a popular choice for boys! The cardstock is Real Red and Basic Black using some markers and blender pen techniques.

The last card uses the set "Wild About You". I have to HAVE this set!! I've seen so many cute cards & scrapbooking pages made using this set. The cardstock is also Real Red with some Brilliant Blue & white. The inks are from the bold bright family.

Enjoy the posts everyone!

Back From Summer Vacation!

We arrived home late last night from our camping trip to Wisconsin Dells so after endless loads of laundry today, I finally had some time to sit down and work on my swap card for a meeting I'm attending on Monday night. Here's what I came up with... The swap theme was 'Kids Birthdays' and I had the category 'Boy Toddler'. I decided to use the new Zoofari set because I always think of Evan when I see it so I figure it must be toddler boyish :o) I also wanted to use the new '08 colors and an embellishment - the new double stitched grosgrain!! Here are the full details:

Colours: Blue Bayou, Basic Black, Soft Sky, Naturals Ivory, Craft White

Stamps: Zoofari, See You Around Jumbo Wheel, EveryDay Flexible Phrases

Others: Clear Embossing Powder, Blue Bayou Double Stitched Ribbon, Sponges, Googly Eye!

Scrapbooking Evan!

Hi Everyone!

I've decided to try to scrapbook 1 layout of Evan each month for 2007 - I figure this might be a little less overwhelming than trying to keep up with his busy life by scrapbooking everything. The reality is that I will never catch up!

Here's January's layout. I was really happy with how it turned out - but it came at a price. I think this layout took me about 4 hours (with a couple of breaks in there of course)! There was lots of cutting - from the chipboard large letters where I used the retired 'Treehouse' Designer Paper to stamping with craft ink & embossing each of the letters to the sweater, mittens and snowflakes. I used craft white ink to sponge all around both pages to create a 'frost like' look.

Whew... I'm just glad that I like the output!

Let me know what you think! Have a super weekend everyone!

Pick A Petal Fun

I love this set - it is so versatile! Thought I would share a few examples of some cards I made up recently... I got some inspiration from splitcoast and some from the set itself! Enjoy!

The first sample uses the new On Board Blossoms & Basics chipboard and Designers Series Prints paper.

The Blue birthday card uses cut out petals and the 1 1/4 circle punch to form the middle of the flower. I added Dazzling Diamonds & a circle rhinestone as finishing touches.

The petals congratulations card was so fun & easy to make. The idea came from Splitcoast and uses kraft cardstock and white craft ink - lots of sponging and some coordinating gingham ribbon & a soft subtle button to finish it off.

Finally, the birthday lady bug card - so much fun creating a bug out of just petals & punches. The 1 3/8 and 1 1/4 punches were used to make the body & head of the ladybug!
