A Stampin' Up! Birthday Party!

Today is a BIG day! I'm so excited to be attending a birthday party for the daughter of my very good friend (Hi Kim)! Kim's little girl is turning 8 and today, she will have 10 other little stampers over to STAMP and to party it up!

I can't wait to show them their stamp set, ink and treats for coming to this party! Here's a side view of the bag plus the 4 little 3x3 love notes the kiddos will be making!

It's a busy weekend ...with even more excitement as tomorrow I'm doing a home workshop at Janine's place (Hi Janine)!! Looking forward to spending time with Janine and getting to know her and her friends better over some stamping, laughing and fun!

Have a super weekend everyone! Thanks for stopping by today!!

SAB Rewards Rock!

It's Day 3 of SAB and already there are records being shattered!! Don't miss out on your opportunity to collect FREE rewards for yourself!

Today's picture was taken at my Upline's last team meeting! One of the best parts of the meeting is something called Demonstrator Theatre. Meeting guests rotate around 5-6 different tables watching very talented team members demonstrating various projects, techniques, and tricks! You can take notes, take pictures or just watch & learn!

This particular demonstration was presented by Lori Bennett! Lori did a fabulous job of creating this adorable little bag that would be suitable for all occasions! She used the Two Tags Bigz Die, which I personally don't have but of course, have now added to my wish list to acquire over the next few months!!

Enjoy your SAB project of the day!

The samples above use the SAB set Punch Bunch. This is my favorite reward this year in the SAB Mini! If you would like a SAB for yourself, email me (lisaburns@rogers.com) or watch for my SAB opportunity nights coming up in February!!

To give you an idea of how much fun it can be to order during Sale-A-Bration, check out this price breakdown if you were to order the supplies to make these bags:

Two Tags Die $29.95\
Package of Designer Series Paper $12.50
Package of Cardstock $8.50\
Classic Ink Color $7.25
Package of Brads $8.50

Total: $66.70

Just with this order alone, you've earned the Punch Bunch SAB reward FREE!!

The samples above do use a variety of punches and some addition embellishments but if you already have some of these tools/product at home, you can mix & match and create endless options of bags!!

I hope you enjoyed today's post - be back tomorrow with some birthday party excitement!!

Reasons To Join Stampin Up!

There are many reasons - some are obvious...like the discount we get as a demonstrator! But there are a number of other reasons that might not come to mind right away however are still well worth mentioning.

Today I'm going to focus on one benefit that I would have to admit didn't really occur to me when I myself joined the SU! family but has come to be a very reassuring fact in my life!

Most of us have it pretty good... a good job, with security and a decent pay cheque.

What would happen if that was taken away tomorrow? Would you be prepared? Would you have a plan? How would you make ends meet and survive?

If you want to build a back up plan that involves something you love doing anyway - you should contact me so that we can chat! I would love to share my experiences and insight into why Stampin' Up! can absolutely be viewed as a viable plan!

Enjoy your SAB project for the day!!

You'll likely recognize the layout as similar to yesterdays card project! It is! Today's card was one that I received in the Shoebox Swap last week! I just love this card so thank you to whomever came up with it!

The card uses the 'Bliss' SAB reward...which I sadly don't have yet! It will be the next SAB reward I will be working to earn - for sure!! The saying is from the SAB reward 'So Happy For You'

Thanks for stopping by today!

Workshop? Why Not!

Hosting a Sale-A-Bration Workshop (aka PARTY)!

Don't be afraid of home parties - they have come a long, LONG way since our Mom's held them in their homes!

Today's home parties are fun and engaging. They provide an opportunity for busy people to shop in the comfort of a home rather than running around from store to store, or worse...the Mall! Yikes!

I offer a variety of different types of workshops, all of which you can customize to your liking or to your specific group of guests but if I were to summarize into 2 basic kinds of workshops, here's what that would look like:

An Intro Workshop - this type of party is ideal for groups that have never been to a Stampin' Up! workshop or home party, or class/event! These guests may not have ever stamped before or they may have very limited exposure to the craft!

A Stamp-A-Stack - this type of party is ideal for groups that have experienced the Stampin' Up! workshop, or attended classes/events in the past! The projects are a 'step-up' from the intro projects and would include some stampin' techniques!

Book your home party and you can have it at your place, or mine! You don't need a large group of people to host your own stampin' morning, afternoon or evening! 6-10 guests is ideal! I want to get you as much free stuff as possible, so now's the time to pick your date!

Enjoy your SAB project of the day!

This sample uses the Sweet Summer SAB reward and the saying from the Bring On The Cake stamp set from the Occasions Mini!

Hockey ...Not Stamping!

I don't often post non-stamping related updates but today I'm going to as I really didn't get much stamping done this past weekend! My 7-year old was playing with his local league team in the John Horvat Memorial tournament in Bothwell!

They did very well as a team, winning the C division Championship game and taking home hardware for winning the Relay Skills Competition!! Way to go Dragons!

My challenge for the week will be to turn these pics into an MDS page to share with you! Stay tuned for that!!

TOMORROW is a BIG, BIG day! Sale-A-Bration begins so if you would like to earn FREE Stampin Up! rewards, email me (lisaburns@rogers.com) or watch my blog for updates & information!

Quick Sample Post!

It's HOCKEY time! Evan's LL team is off to play in their first tournament - can't wait to see how they do! This tournament is not too far from home so if I get a chance later today, I'll post again :o)
For now, here's another sample from the Shoebox Swap! A very simple card with just one color ink (Rich Razzleberry) and a great way to use up DSP scraps! The stamp image is from a new set in the Occasions Mini called 'Bring On the Cake'.
Enjoy your Saturday!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hi There - I'm back! Can you believe it... two posts in one day!
This was another shoebox favorite of mine because it is simple, but stunning! This card uses very little stamping...in fact only the saying and the inside saying are stamped and the rest uses accessories!

The frame of the card is created by using the new Textured Impressions Embossing folder called 'Framed Tulips'! Like the rest of the Big Shot Impression folders, I'm sure this will be a big hit with my stampin' friends! The hearts are made from a combination of the new Red Glitter Paper (in the Occasions Mini) and some black cardstock to add contrast. The hearts were punched out using the Full Heart punch shown below!

The inside of the card has a stamped saying plus 2 little hearts made out of the new red glitter paper! Such a cute & simple card!

Thanks for stopping by today - twice :o)

Create A Cupcake!

Isn't this card adorable!

I don't have this stamp set or the coordinating punch yet so I'm extra glad that I participated in the Shoebox Swap at my upline's team meeting this week! I just LOVE this card!!
Unfortunately I don't know which demo's created which shoebox swap cards to give them credit but if this card is yours... WELL DONE! It's such a fun card!

The set used to create this beauty is from the new Occasions Mini and it's called 'Create A Cupcake'. There's a new coordinating punch too, so with both, your options are limitless!!
Just click on the pictures of each item below to learn more and order anytime - online 24/7 or email me at lisaburns@rogers.com!

I'll be back later tonite with another sample from the Shoebox Swap!!

My Upline's Full Team Meeting!

I hope you're all having a great week so far!

I'm very excited to go to a Stampin' Up! quarterly meeting tonight - they are always full of great information, lots of creativity and fantastic friends! I especially love these meetings because I know a number of my team will be attending and I can't wait to see them and find out how they are doing!

I'm also excited about participating in a 'shoebox swap'! Believe it or not, this is actually my first shoebox swap so I've spent a significant amount of time working through some samples in order to end up with the ideal card for this type of event! My card needed to be something demonstratable (something that can be completed within 10mins or less) and needed to use either Sale-A-Bration or products from the New Occasions Mini!

Here's what I came up with...using inspiration from our demo gallery of projects (Stampin' Connection)! Special credit thanks to Julie Davidson for the inspiration!

I'll be back tomorrow with updates from the meeting! Have a great night everyone!!

A Light Week of Hockey...

Which means I'm getting more time in my stampin' room!
Here's a sample I created for my display board! I change my display board over with the seasons so as we move away from the holidays and crisp winter layouts, the warmth of Spring and budding flowers begin to take shape!
Today's card can be duplicated with the following supplies:

Stamps: Baby Blossoms & Thanks For Caring (from Occasions Mini)

Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride (both 2011 In Colors) and Very Vanilla. I also used some DSP from the Hostess 6x6 paper pack but you could use any coordinating DSP!

Ink: Pear Pizzazz & Blushing Bride

Accessories: Pear Pizzazz Ribbon, Wide Oval Punch, Markers & Dimensionals and NEW Vanilla Rosettes (in the Occasions Mini)!

I used Pear Pizzazz & Blushing Bride markers on the saying, then stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock. I then punched the saying out using the Wide Oval punch and popped it up (using Dimensionals) in the frame image from the Baby Blossoms stamp set!

Here's a look at the full Baby Blossoms stamp set - it's awesome!

Thanks for stopping by today!!

Old Style Punches For Sale

Update: SOLD Punches indicated in red

I've been trying to 'change-over' my punches from the old style to the new style for the last few months. I really like the old style of punch however it is confusing for customers - and in particular, newer stampers - to see both styles. The reality is that they can only order the new style now so I think it's time to sell off my old style punches!

I began this process back when I had my Holiday Open House so some of you have already taken advantage of the offer! If you LOVE the old style punch and want to get your hands on them and/or you wish to save a bit $$ by buying the punches gently used - here's your chance!

I'm going to post 5 punches at a time, for the next week or so. As each group of punches is posted, you can reserve a punch of interest by emailing me. Once you've reserved a punch to purchase, you will have 1 full week to pay for and pick up your punch. If a week passes without payment/pick up, the punch will go back on the available-for-sale list.

Today's punches are:
Heart to Heart $22 (Savings of $7.76)

1 3/4" Scallop Circle $20 (Savings of $9.76) - SOLD

Full Heart $22 (Savings of $7.76)

1 3/4" Circle $22 (Savings of $7.76) = SOLD

1" Circle $15 (Savings of $4.82)

Thanks for stopping by today. Come back tomorrow to view more punches for sale!

Occasions Mini - Medallion Medley Class

Occasions Mini - New Product Launch!

Simply Sent - Medallion Medley
By now, you should have received your complimentary copy of the amazing new Occasions Mini catalogue in the mail (if you're on my customer mailing list that is)!

It is so much fun getting new products and playing around with them before the catalogue launches! Did you know that that is actually a perk of being a demonstrator with Stampin' Up!? Yup, it is!

I've had a chance to play in my craft studio and WOW, did it ever feel great! As much as the holidays are fun and everything - they sure do get in the way of a girl's crafting time :o)

Anyhow, I'd like to introduce you to the new Simply Sent product launching in the Occasions Mini! It was one of the products that really caught my eye and it definitely was the product I opened up first to play with upon receiving my preorder!!

If you love cards, but you find yourself sooo busy that you can't get to making as many as you'd like .... YOU MUST INVEST IN THIS PRODUCT! Oh my goodness! It took me all of 10mins to rip open the package, take a peek at the goodies and then complete the cards! I'm not kidding you... 10mins tops!
The Simply Sent kit uses the Medallion image and the card fronts are beautiful! Did you know that the Medallion stamp was the #1 selling stamp image from 2009?? Little bit of Stampin' Up! trivia for you there!! I know many of you love, love, love this image so this kit is sure to be a hit also!!

The Simply Sent product can be found on Page 41 of the upcoming Occasions Mini. I will add the online Mini to my blog as soon as I'm allowed to (Jan 4th) or if you would like your own copy of the Mini, email me at lisaburns@rogers.com anytime!!
Here's what the kit looks like (below). You can buy just the card material or the coordinating 'Say It Simply' stamp set, or both! The card material is shown in the picture on the right and it contains 8 premade cards, a sheet of 16 self-adhesive labels and 8 Vanilla envelopes. Yes, that math is correct - you get extra labels for use on other projects!!

The picture below shows the inside of the card ... very cool! The outside card front is done in the Early Espresso color but the inside is vanilla so you don't even need to add a layer in order to stamp on the inside or write your card greeting!!

Want to learn more about this kit? Come to the Medallion Medley Class on January 27th and score these amazing cards!! Contact me for full class details!
Registration can be accepted up to January 24, 2011. Hope to see you soon!

These next few months will be busy! Busy getting back into the routine of school & work, busy with hockey and busy of course with my Stampin' Up! business! Our biggest promotion of the year is right around the corner so if you're familiar with SALE-A-BRATION you know that you're in for a treat!

If you haven't heard of SALE-A-BRATION (SAB for short) yet - don't worry - you will learn lots more about it over the next few weeks as I prepare for my winter class/event schedules and workshop bookings!

Have a wonderful first day of January everyone! Be back soon...promise :o)
